Misfits Vegan Protein Bar, High Protein, Low Sugar, Gluten Free, Plant Based Protein Bar, 12 Pack (Honeycomb)

I wasn’t expecting much because I’ve had protein bars in the past that tasted horrible, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of these; they were light and crispy but not as sweet as a normal chocolate bar. I would 100% recommend these over other protein bars in the market.

I've tried many protein brands and bars, and while I've never heard of Misfits they certainly clinch the spot of having created a scrumptious, low-sugar protein bar. The protein bar comes with a unique texture and taste. Unfortunately, for only a 12-pack at this size, the current price seems unreasonable. This protein bar comes with promising nutritional value and flavour. In contrast to the usual fruity flavours, Misfits have done well to create a distinct flavour profile, using honey and chocolate while staying entirely vegan (free from dairy) and only 3 grams of sugar. Each protein bar packs 15 grams of protein, about the same as a single protein shake. The taste does not disappoint, tasting unique and delicious, and gentle on the stomach. Upon biting into the bar, you get a soft crispy crunch, quickly followed by a slightly roasted coffee bean flavour followed by a luxuriously creamy, oaty taste. The main sweetness of the honey is less noticeable as the chocolate taste becomes more prominent after each bite. The soft, crispy crunch and chocolate alone make it undeniably delicious and addicting! I've tried these before meals, after meals and on every occasion, I've thankfully had no odd feelings in my stomach. The protein bar seems to settle in the stomach really well given it is dairy-free and low-sugar. The only disappointment comes in the price tag. Misfits are not alone, however, many protein brands oddly sell their bars at high price tags that personally put me off from regular purchases. If you want to have some around, during occasions you want to treat yourself after a tiring workout, this nutritionally guilty-free option is a top selection.

I ordered these for myself and my husband. We both watch our weight and exercise. It’s not easy as you get into your 50’s and it’s hard sometimes to maintain some motivation. These are my treat for after I work out. They are like a carrot on a stick for me. For my husband, who has a sweet tooth he saves his for the evening when he’s craving something sweet. In the past there’s always been a compromise with our choice of protein bars. Either they are tiny and two bites and it’s gone or the taste is a bit meh. These vegan protein bars are delicious and substantial. They have the desired effect of staving off hunger and they stop me reaching for something that I’d regret later. For my husband they are enough of a treat to make him feel contented. The taste is definitely a cut above other vegan protein bars I’ve tried. This chocolate honeycomb is actually pretty delicious and I would order it again. It’s got the chocolate hit which is a must in our house, it’s soft and chewy and studded with crispy bits of honeycomb. It is my reward without the guilt. Incidentally I warm mine sometimes in the microwave and use it as a dessert with ice cream or you might like it in in your porridge. In my opinion these bars are great. I really don't understand people who passed these as good. They have an horrible taste, I just couldn't believe that people said they were good. They are horrible bad taste.

As someone who follows a vegan diet, finding protein bars that actually taste good can be a challenge, but these bars definitely hit the spot. Not only are they plant-based and vegan-friendly, but they're also high in protein and low in sugar and carbs, which is a huge plus. The texture of the bar is just right - not too chewy and not too crunchy - and the honeycomb flavour is delicious. It's not too sweet but has just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy my cravings. I also appreciate that these bars come in a convenient pack of 12, which makes it easy to grab one on the go or pack in my lunch. Overall, I highly recommend the Misfits Vegan Protein Bar in Honeycomb flavour for anyone looking for a tasty and nutritious snack.

Watch out! The Honeycomb bars are high in saturated fats. Not as healthy as made out. Flavour is nice.

These bars are quite costly - nearly £1.80 a bar at the time of review - but I have to say, they are probably the best protein bars for quality and flavour we've had. The price isn't bad either, considering you pay a similar price for supermarket own brands... HOWEVER I'd hope that there is a bulk discount option for buying 12 at a time! The flavour is great, consistency is great, and none of the usual powder/ stodgy aftertaste. The fact these are gluten free is also a bonus. Nothing to complain about here, and these get my very rare full 5 stars!
