Excellent how too review for hunters and historians. Gives info on use and great mechanical drawings comparing the various types of units as well as discussing the pros and cons of each style of unit.much better resource than the you tube video of the making of a silencer out of PVC and a hose clamp! wish the comments on current laws and fees for permits was more comprehensive!

I like a challenge, Came out looking like I bought it...after rebuilding it 3 times. This book is so good at explaining, I did it right. ..Now the parts on the other hand, I had to order on line.

The book gives lots of interesting information into the history and real purpose of silencers. Pretty cool read, I wish it weren't illegal to build these or I would love to try to build one!

I ordered this book out of curiousity. Having grown up watching movies and playing video games that made silencers seem pretty magical, I wanted to get some idea just how they made the magic happen.The book is clearly written, and I have no doubt you could use the plans to make a servicable silencer. Of course, there's the rub. The author and publisher both point out frequently, that making or possessing silencers without license or permit is very illegal. I can't help but think the kind of curious tinkerers who would buy this book would be tempted to do just that (you can find lots of you tube videos to back that thought up).So, although it's interesting stuff, I'm not totally comfortable having the temptation around.

I'm interested in reducing gun noise and not my ability to hear. 35yrs flying jet acft didn't help

Falls under the category of: "Just because you know how to build one, doesn't mean you should." Check you local and state and federal laws first.

I bought several Kindle books about suppressors. This was probably fine 20 years ago, but he advocates building your own smooth bore barrel for the suppressor, and using hockey pucks for baffles. Save your money.
