Great to cook with, but perhaps a "late Friday" when packed for delivery!
I bought this because to replace my 10year old Weber kettle, because all the grids and accessories we rusted. I started off with high hopes for the Lokkii, but when it came to assembly the tops of the legs didn't fit properly because the metal had been folded poorly. I fixed them, but the 45 minute assembly turned into 2 hours. All of the frame had to be assembled under stress, again because the angles were not quite right. The axle for the wheels had to be scraped through the holes in the frame and it then turned out the wheels had too much movement along the axle which meant as it was wheeled the caps were pushed off after a couple of turns. I found this out, because I built it indoors and wheeled it outside. I fixed this by making a couple of spacers from a plastic rod I had in the shed. Once outside I went to put the warming shelf in, but one of the lid tabs was bent and the enamel was flaked off. Next the cooking grid went in and one of the tabs it rests on was bent as well. The enamel was also damaged. Finally found a dent in the kettle and a chip on the rim; the former was likely due to bad packaging and the latter poor manufacture. Also to note the side shelves don't appear to be stainless steel because one has a small scratch showing through what looks like the coating you use before chroming. We will see if it rusts! Once built and niggles ignored very sturdy construction. Lid needed a bit of a twist to get it to shut properly, but no drama. In use great BBQ to use, shallower kettle heated fast and the cast iron griddle accessory I bought cooked steak a dream. Grid plenty big enough and warming shelf very handy, but it likely may need to come out for roasting joints. To note the ash collector is fiddly to use, but works well. 2 final things; why didn't I send it back when I found faults? Well I coped with the construction issues and didn't see the flaws until it was built and outside. Also I'd bought loads of accessories which complicated things and not least of all I wanted a flipping BBQ over the bank holiday! My message is it should be really good if perfect in the box, so check it properly before assembly and if it is to last well, probably don't accept any enamel damage. As for me let's see if it outlasts my old Weber! Oh yes no cooking instructions or recipe book and no I didn't watch the DVD, so it my be on there!

Amazing value, solid, good looking BBQ
Bought this last year, and it's amazing. I was dubious as I've never heard of lokkii and it seemed too cheap. But the BBQ is built like a tank, and has stood up well over the winter. It takes pride of place on my decking. I would definitely recommend this, and everyone that has seen it has looked at buying one. This is better than than a Weber at twice the price.
