Bought this just before Christmas as an upgrade to our old one. Compared with the previous model, this one is made entirely of stainless steel, which is very reassuring (as I am never sure about squeezing animal fat through a piece plastic) and it feels of such good quality. It also runs more powerful and more smoothly. We made some organic sausages for our parents on Christmas morning and they were both impressed by how easy, clean and quick it was, and of course our (not so) secret receipt. All in all, we are very happy with our update.

Great buy couldn't ask for any better
After using multi times, I have to say this is a great product. Easy to use and you just need to read the instruction and follow it. It did a great job to grind meats and the motor is powerful.I would recommend it to anyone who would like to purchase a meat grinder for basic home use.

Good Light Duty Machine
I bought this machine 18 months ago and have used it regularly to mince meat and to make homemade sausages. In this connection I have often minced semi frozen pieces of diced pork, which works better when making sausages, and while having to work harder the machine has done exactly what I wanted it to do.It is obviously not an industrial machine and if treated as such I am sure it would soon break down, but for the average household use, mincing of different meats etc., and for piping sausages and such, I cannot fault this little machine when considering that it costs only a fraction of the more high end brands.Using the machine is very straight forward and everything can be assembled or disassembled in no time at all. The cutter and plates are made from good quality stainless steel and the rest of the metal parts are die-cast aluminium. This makes for a lightweight machine but be aware that the die-cast aluminium parts are not dishwasher safe (plastic parts and stainless steel parts are).In conclusion I think that this is a very good machine for its price range and if not abused unreasonably I cannot see why it should not last for many years to come.

Good on outside, very cheap inside. beware. Thanks
I will be short. bought it a year ago for medium use - to grind occasional meat and sometimes dried fruits. I had Anthony grinder before and it is still working 5-6 years since for 70 pounds or so from Argos. Now this one looks nice, pretty light and simple to use. Worked well for most of the year, but i could feel that it was difficult for it to process food. Slight extra noise, then occasional smell from electrics or parts inside. Eventually year after it died. I dismantled it completely to see what was wrong and was pretty shocked to see that although on outside is made of metal and looks stirdy, inside all the wheels which comprise rotating mechanism (4 or 5 of them) are made of white cheapest plastic so light and cheap that it is suprising how it worked at all before. 3 out 5 wheels were fully broken in parts, rest were cracked. Threw it in the bin. Good looking device, maybe workiing for light or very light load, but no more than that. Because inside is very cheap plastic motor with 2 wired attached. It is up to you to make your decision. Thanks.

Fine light-duty grinder for not much money
I bought this a while ago and have used it for about 12-15 pounds of venison sausage so far in small batches. For the money, it seems to be a fine performer. The 3 supplied cutting plates allow the choice of fine, medium, and coarse grinding. I prefer to grind meats coarsely, then add spices, wine and other additions, mix, and re-grind at medium or fine. This seems to result in an excellent sausage with additives well-dispersed throughout. You will find better results from chilling both the meat and the detachable grinder parts before grinding (I've been doing about 30 minutes in the freezer beforehand.)The grinder is noisy while in operation but I expected that. It doesn't move while grinding, and so far hasn't choked on anything, even when I neglected some bits of silverskin in cleaning up the venison beforehand. (The bits of silverskin ended up clustered on the inside of the grinding plate where it was easy to collect and discard.) I have not tried to feed it meat with sizable tendons or sinew and would not be surprised if you had to stop and clean mid-stream if you did that. The sausage-stuffing bits seem to work just fine, I got as much as 8' of casing on it at one go without too much trouble, and it fed just fine with the occasional air coming through if I wasn't consistent enough in feeding the meat in. (I had done some sausage-making before this, but was hardly expert.)All the parts that come in contact with the meat clean up fairly easily, although I do have to work a little harder in getting all the stuff out of the main grinder body. I always clean by hand so I have no knowledge of how it does in the dishwasher. The grinding plates themselves are the only thing that looked to me like they might rust, so I dry them off well, oil them slightly, and keep them separate in a ziplock baggie, and haven't had any trouble with them with that treatment. All together I am impressed by this machine for this very affordable amount of money. If I was grinding up 100 lbs in a week, repeatedly, I might go for a more expensive and powerful version, but I might not. For those of us with lighter duty cycles than that, this is recommended.
