Our Thick Strop Block. This is an ultra thick cowhide we use on our Gun Belts. The benefit to this type of leather on a block strop is you can sand it down after you have used it for a year and rebuild your compound on top of the strop. Also, thick enough to strop your re-curve blade off the side. **Our Bridle is clean with no markings. A Grade Bridle Cowhide. Strop Material: American Bridle Cowhide Base Material: Oak or Pine Size: Select Size in Options to the right. Thickness: 12-14 oz Leather Hide OPTIONS: BASE Options - Some guys like pine, some guys like oak. My suggestion is if you are stropping a blade; use oak. If you are stropping a tool; use pine. There is no difference in price, you choose. LEATHER Options - On single sided strops we glue smooth side up. On the double sided it will be smooth side and rough side.
