STAY AWAY! CAPICE?
My husband and I are both Chicago area natives and loved going to Gino's when we lived there. Hence, when we saw the frozen Gino's deep dish sausage and cheese in a local NC store, we were thrilled to take it home for dinner. NEVER AGAIN!!! What a disappointment! I baked it to the exact directions but it was just AWFUL! The entire pizza had perhaps two to three slices of pepperoni and pieces of sausage, it drowned in tasteless tomato identified as sauce and minimal cheese. We couldn't even bite into the crust. Just as the city of Chicago has gone downhill, so has this pizza. My suggestion? Take your name, Gino's off the box because you should be embarrassed to put your once wonderful namesake to this terrible product.

Tons and tons of salt
I only gave Gino's pizza a "2" because of the tons and tons of salt it contains. I'm on a low salt diet becaue of my heart. We make our own deep dish pizza without salt it it tastes great. My niece sent me Gino's pizza for my birthday. One serving contains 530 mg of sodium, however that is 1/10 of the pizza. Who cuts a pizza into 10 pieces. This is very deceptive. Most will cut a pizza into 8 pieces and that is equal to 662 mgs of sodium per piece. The whole pixxa has 5,300 mg of sodium. That is enough for almost 3 days worth. I wish they would get that sodium way, way down. Most people do NOT want all that sodium!

Mix up
I was expecting to get 3 different pizzas (cheese, sausage, and supreme), but the sausage was replaced with an extra cheese. They were good, but I was expecting to get what I paid for.

What's not to like?
I find the flavors good, with nice proportion of cheese to sauce and crust. Nice fennel, subtle oregano, and tasty tomato. The toppings seem a little sparse. I top a little Parmesan and extra mozzarella a minute before it's done for decadence. The crust is chewy inside and crispy outside. Never been to Chicago, but this pizza makes me curious to go and try Gino's East fresh.

it's frozen, yes, but be careful how you cook it
We've had several over the years, and I always had a "meh" reaction, but if you follow the directions exactly, it's a long cook time, but it turns out beautifully. If you leave this cooking too long at the high heat, the cheese dries up and the crust hardens, and may even blacken. But if you follow the full bake directions and let this cook on a high rack at the forty minutes or so, it makes a world of difference, and it's definitely not "meh." It's really, really good. I think I see people discussing both the restaurant and the frozen product on here. I've only had the frozen Gino's East, I've never been to the restaurant. Having had one of these properly cooked at the right bake time, I'd actually now like to try it. I'd find it hard to think it could beat Connie's, no matter how good it is.

Terrible purchase.
My husband is from the Chicago area and is a fan of Gino's East in general so we had high hopes for a taste of the homeland. DO NOT purchase their frozen Meaty Legend pizza. We would rather have a Totino's frozen pizza instead and save a ton of money. The so called Meaty Legend is so lack of meat we couldn't believe it. Almost no meat at all. Such a disappointment. Will never buy product from Gino's ever again and on our next trip to Chicago we may not even visit a restaurant in person. We have 2 pizzas left (we bought a 3 pack) and we don't know what to do with them. Don't even feel like it would be appropriate to dump them on our adult kids. I think we spent around $90 for 3-11 inch pizzas. I'm sure including shipping but dang, about $30 for a pizza that was so amazingly poor quality. They will never get our business again. And looking at other reviews it looks like we're not alone.

Not Great
Crust was like concrete, too much sauce, not much cheese, and the whole thing was really salty.

Good but the price is outlandish
I've had this at from the grocery store (approx. 7.00 for this pizza), and it's pretty good. The saucy is very chunky and minimally spiced, which is exactly what I personally like. The crust is as hard as a rock, though, but I don't mind. The price they've got on this package is a joke, though. Nobody in their right mind would pay $72 for 3 pizzas.
