Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum
Without having tried any other grinders and having only owned the Porlex Mini Hand Grinder for only a few months it's hard to give any real review beyond the fact that it grinds coffee beans well, it feels very well constructed and is easy to clean. It is only a "mini" grinder, so best for one or two cups. If you're regularly grinding enough coffee for more, then perhaps the non-mini version would be a better choice. Were I a giant, living in a castle in the sky with a particularly sensitive olfactory system and a desire for a loaf of unique artisan bread, having just discovered a trespassing Englishman who claims he arrived via a beanstalk, I'd also be reconsidering my purchase. For my purposes though it's great. Travels well, cleans easily, grinds perfectly. I generally grind for the Aeropress or French Press. Being medium to course grinds, it isn't too laborious. It may take a little more elbow-grease to grind fine espresso grinds, but I've not tried yet.I'm not a connoisseur of coffee by any means, but I could certainly tell that a cup of coffee from freshly ground beans has a nicer flavour. It may take a little more effort than instant coffee and I may not look as classy as George Clooney popping a pod in his Nespresso machine (it can promote a good gurn while grinding. Just don't hold it low, behind a counter, gentleman, while you have company. Not a good look) but i wouldn't go back to pre-ground. It's beans all the way now...

Fantastic portable grinder
Bought for a camping trip to France, the grinder is just big enough to provide fine grounds for 2 aeropress coffees. I found about 100 turns of the handle equates to about 16g of coffee, so enough to make a cuppa on the lighter side. The grinder is really well made with strong steel used throughout. I can't imagine how you would break the handle, and the fact it comes off and attaches to the side of the grinder for easy storage is a big plus if you are carrying it around. It is also easy to adjust the grind from very fine right up to a fairly coarse grind that I now use for making cold brew.Very glad I went for this rather than the cheaper options.

Incredible Value, Great Grinder, Fantastically Well-Made
Incredible quality, makes amazing grinds that are perfect for an espresso machine. The more I use it, the more I marvel that something so well-made could be such great value. Perfect for a holiday pad where it will get occasional use and takes up much less space than a benchtop grinder, while delivering the same quality of fine grounds. Takes a while to grind 14g of beans for a double shot (a couple of minutes), but that's great time to be meditating and planning world domination.

Great looking grinder but hard to keep stable
I really like this coffee bean grinder. The grinder itself is lovely and highly satisfying with a very sleek design. I have taken away one star because I find it hard to keep the grinder totally stable against surfaces when grinding (this is recommended when grinding) so the longevity of the grinder may be reduced if the components wear faster.

Great compact size for traveling
The coffee grinder is very well made with parts fitting closely together. I like that the grind size is adjustable for different brewing methods. Great compact size for traveling, you can make a large, strong mug of coffee with one load of beans. I hold the mill in one hand while rotating the handle in the other hand so that both of my arms are constantly moving until the beans are all ground. It takes about two minutes to grind the beans if you are working fast.

Durable and easy to grind medium sized coffee for my French Press.
The discerning coffee drinker does not ever, ever, drink instant or pre-ground coffee. Why? Because us discerning coffee drinkers know that freshly ground coffee beans make for a low acidity and eminently drinkable coffee. I am the only regular coffee drinker in my home so I don’t need an electric coffee bean grinder. This Porlex Hand Grinder is very robust and makes medium grinds that don’t escape when I plunge my aluminium mini French coffee press. It takes me 30 seconds to grind 3 table spoons of fresh beans. I like preparing my coffee and makes the mug of coffee so much more satisfying and tasty. Brilliant product.

Really great grinder
I've been through a few cheap and mid-range grinders and they've all either broken eventually and had inconsistent grind. This one is brilliant. Very tough, easy to clean and adjust. I keep it in the cardboard box that came with it because it looks cool. I was a bit concerned about the price before it arrived, but it's a great buy and I'm very happy with it.

Pricey
Decent grinder, but for the same price you could get a better grinder.
