1400S SPICES 8oz Oaxaca Chiles Dried, Pasilla de Oaxaca Whole Dried Chile Seco Mexican Peppers

WOW!! Now I understand what all the fuss is about these wonderful dried smoky peppers. I have worked as a head cook in fine dinning restaurants and high end steak houses and let me tell you that I have worked with some really great worldwide herbs and spices and these peppers are top tier. I could even smell the smokiness of them through the Amazon packaging. I bet the smell had the Amazon delivery driver hungry all day! LOL!! I couldn't wait to used them in one of my personal best selling dishes and they took the dish to another level. I removed the seeds (they are really hot) and put the peppers in my coffee/spice grinder. The heat level is about the same as cayenne pepper but it doesn't hang around on your tongue or mouth. It's like a hit and run type of heat. Wonderful product! I highly recommend them!

I was shopping for these as an ingredient in my diy chili powder. These were fresh and flexible with great flavor and aroma. Some dried chilis are stiff and brittle. I will buy these again.

I was worried these would show up dry and crispy. They didn’t. Nice and supple and malleable. I can’t speak to taste because I have nothing to compare to, but they look and smell amazing.

These have a nice smokey flavor and provide a pleasant depth of character.

These are authentic Oaxacan Pasilla (not to be confused with regular pasilla's) and at a great price. They are also high quality (not dried out, stiff, or crumbly). These are generally somewhat difficult to obtain, but now that they're offered on Amazon- easy as can be! This brands other products are also very high quality (I've used several different products from them).
