Amazing purchase!
Solidly made. Fit and finish are nice. The plane needed very little flattening or squaring. 15 minutes of light sanding and it was perfect. The blade came sharp and ready to go (I still polished it to "scary sharp"). It has held a very good edge through several projects. It does what every other block plane can do, with the added benefit of rabbetting. Arguably, it is my favorite tool in the shop now.

Must be sharpened out of the box
Sharpened to 2000 grit is needed before first use

Planes well, needs better metal finishing
This attractive rabbet block plane has a nicely applied black enamel finish on the painted surfaces and a generously sized fore-and-aft blade adjustment knob. After initial honing the blade cuts well. The less attractive aspects are these: When I hold the plane in its working position, my right thumb fits naturally into the bowed cutout directly above the plane blade. This opening is not finished to any noticeable level of refinement. The edge is sharp and abrupt and feels distinctly uncomfortable. The plane bottom, where it forms the right angle side flanks, is also very abrupt. The edge there is not quite sharp enough to cut one's hand, but it is uncomfortable and displeasing to touch. This plane does not have an adjustable mouth. I have not found that to be a problem in my so-far limited use. The actual opening between blade edge and the front of the plane is about 1/32 of an inch on the plane I received. I have not weighed the plane but compared to my several other block planes, it is on the heavier side. This can be seen as an advantage or not, depending on how you use the plane and your preferences or dislike for weight in a small plane. I have not used the tool enough to form an opinion on edge retention but the blade sharpened easily and cuts well. Overall, it appears in my early use to be a reasonable value in this type and size plane.

Terrible cheap Chinese trash
Aside from no shame in copying someone else’s work, this is a cheaply made, poorly finished plane with subpar materials. There are much better alternatives out there.
