Was a bit disappointed with some of the sounds, especially the rain and stream, did not sound natural. I also found that there was not enough output power when connected to my pillow speaker on some of the sounds. Very expensive for what the item actually does, im sure an MP3 player and speakers with sounds downloaded from a relaxation or sounds CD would suffice. Also, a built-in radio would have been good. On the plus side the pre-set timer function is good together with the reduction in volume as the timer counts-down to zero. The Tinnitus sound card was OK, however some of the music type sounds were very strange and lacked variation. I tried the unit for a week then sent-it back - not for me.

Really decent well made unit - and sounds good, could be a little smaller but ok for bed side table. There are two sound cards that come with the unit (Sleep / relax type sounds and 'The Bonus' Spa retreat sound on the other that are good but if you want it specifically to help with tinnitus as I do, you need to buy the extra card that does not come with the unit.

The sound oasis does a good job of providing background noise at night and this helps me with issues of tinnitus and hypreacusis. However, my partner does hear the sounds generated and this disrupts the sleep apart from at low noise levels which I then cannot hear to the level needed. I have used pillow speakers and headband speakers, but both proved difficult to use.

The sounds on this machine are really great - the "rain" sounds like a natural rain, same goes for the "ocean waves". There is a great variety of other sounds on 2 different sound cards that come with it. Other sounds include special soothing music, as well as various frequencies of "white noise". It is possible to turn the volume up and down, and there is also a special function which slows the sound down gradually as you fall asleep (when you set your timer). It is very relaxing to fall asleep to the sounds of the Sound Oasis.The additional benefit is that it blocks the noise that we sometimes hear when our neighbours watch TV. The low humming-noise sometimes carries through the wall of our terraced house, but turning the Sound Oasis on blocks it completely, which is great.The Sound Oasis looks well made, it is very easy to use it, and it's definitely recommended.

Had very bad experience with this product twice I had to return it , first due to it turning off every 4 hours, second time due to it not having any sound. I didn't go for the thrid run went to another product instead.The positive was Amazon returns is easy and painless.

My husband suffers from Tinnitus which stops him sleeping. The hospital specialist recommended this range of products and we chose the Sound Oasis S650. It arrived promptly and the supplier was very helpful with a few queries we had. The machine itself was very easy to set up and has a range of 8 sounds plus a memory card with more, that we have not needed to use yet. The sounds lull my husband to sleep and blots out a lot of the head noises that cause him problems. If he wakes up he can just hit the button and the sound will run for a chosen time until he falls asleep again. Our cats are very impressed with the 'birdsong' choice and also go to sleep to the sound of birds gently tweeting and cooing! I had to return this product as it broke after only a couple of nights of using it. Its a shame as the sounds were very good from the limited time I heard them.

Anyone suffering from the curse of tinnitus will be grateful for anything that helps relieve the symptoms, especially during the night, and this machine has made a significant improvement to my quality of life. It is very well made, with a good variety of masking sounds and excellent, succint instructions that make using it very easy. The internal speaker works well but there is the option for headphones or a pillow speaker if neccessary. Do follow the instructions carefully though, as, when using the power pack, the display can be bright and distracting and will need to be turned down. Yes, it is expensive, but a most impressive machine.
