Don't miss! It fits beautifully!
"Misfits" is one of UK's weirdest shows, weird but brilliant! Three seasons of 6 or 7 episodes, a Christmas Special, and loads of funny interviews in this box. The writers capture our present youth offenders in a hugely funny way,at the same time in impressive authentic settings and language. Amazon frowns at the use of many **** words in a review, so I won't do it, but it is safely to say that you must NOT invite tweens or parents or anyone else with the Political Correct Syndrome to a viewing. The rest of us will enjoy this delightful sending-up of a Heroes superpower-mania as directors and writers give some weird, if not cruel twists to the notion of superpowers handed over to youth offenders. And when you're finished by Christmas - I did it in three days - you're ready for, let's say "Being Human" Being Human - Series 1-4 Box Set [DVD ]. Both shows, by the way, owes a lot to the Buffy universum, and all the better for it. The US movie "Chronicle" makes a stab in that direction (if you've seen it), but that is comparing Mary Whitehouse with Russell Brand; you get the idea. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the Nathan character is replaced in the 3rd season; you realize that the show may be a perfect example of ensemble-playing but it is Nathan's freewheeling offending style that kept the business glued together. The foul-mouthed identical twin character(s) that replaced him in season 3 is/are a bit over the top.Apart from that, just buy the damn box! And maybe keep those divorce papers handy. Or a box of kleenex. By the way, aspiring to a job of supervisor of superpowered teenagers is not a good career move.

Excellent Import Show, Set had some problems
I've watched entire series on Hulu and found it quite entertaining. It's super-funny with lots of action and just enough raunchy behavior to keep you coming back for more. Now, the show gets 5 stars, but this set gets 4. It does have plenty of behind-the-scenes features and being an import, it has the original music from the UK broadcast. Because of the 50i format of UK broadcast TV, I had to buy a compatible blu-ray player. Just Google Blu-ray Player 50Hz compatibility and you'll find a page of approved players. I plan on buying more region-free import sets from Amazon.uk so this will pay for itself within a few months. The first two seasons (series) played flawlessly in the new player. But Series 3 had a problem. Disc 1 was on the loading screen for about 5 minutes before ejecting the disc and going back to the home screen. I repeated this a couple of times before turning off the player, turning it back on and trying again. This time, the disc started playing after loading for a couple more minutes. The other discs in Series 3 also take a couple of minutes to load, but does eventually start playing.

Gritty and exciting!
Whilst 21 episodes may not sound like a lot compared to the series in America, Misfits doesn't have a single pointless or boring episode just to fill up 22 episodes a series. You would think that so few episodes would stop you from getting to know a character, but I can guarantee that it doesn't. Each character is unique and interesting, and it's surprising how much character development is slotted in neatly, so well that you don't notice it happening as you are watching it, but if you were to watch the first episode of a character and their latest, it would surprise you how different they are (with a slight exception of Rudy, as he doesn't have as much character development, because he has quite literally split personalities). Every single actor is putting their fullest into each episode and it really shows. The writing never fails and even when an episode isn't that action packed, gory or plot heavy, it still never bores me. The humour never feels out of place and whilst it was sad to see Nathan leave (probably the funniest character of all of them) it doesn't feel like it is lacking anything in the third series, maybe just a few snide comments every now and then. There are some disturbing scenes that aren't suitable for young kids, and some that are definitely awkward to be watching with your parents. This is a very realistic version of what people would actually do if the had superpowers.

Unforgettable and excellent
Enjoyable and completely out of left field. Probably not good viewing if you work in the probation service.A group of community service participants in the wrong place at the wrong time. Outside a community centre when a storm hits, hit by lightning, all develop strange powers. The main characters should be wholly unsympathetic yet almost from the outset you find yourself liking them, caring about what happens to them and fascinated to see how their powers developed. Even the character who is a total jerk somhow gets under your skin.Interesting plotting plays with traditional sci-fi ideas such as the Grandfather paradox, I really enjoy the way that the original powers of the characters mirror or enhance their normal everyday personalities. The shy quiet one who is ignored by many suddenly has the ability to become invisible, a beautiful girl already used to using her looks to get her own way is suddenly irresistable if touched. (More a punishment than a blessing).Genuinely good and interesting, no series 4 which has just aired, but with an almost total cast change by this stage I wonder if this set doesn't represent the best of Misfits.

A good product - as seen on TV so no surprises
A good product - as seen on TV so no surprises and possibly not the best series ever but a good watch nevertheless. I will keep and probably watch a few times. Not for those who do not appreciate crude talk and sexual interpretations or bad language. Certainly easy watching and has a few lol moments

Outstanding!
Misfits are shot like mini films they are amazingly cinimatic! If you like a good solid drama murder with a twist to the story you will love Misfits! With a sence of realism to it with these kids taking part in community service What could posibly go wrong? The actors and actresses are brillent you really believe the charatersand the storyline. You can relate to each charater and each episode is so gripping and so easy yet interesting to follow! Great Drama the best I seen in year to come from the Telly!
