We use it a lot as cooking ingredient in soups, couscous, curries, stir fries and I make my own turmeric tea too! but I also use it in combination with organic black pepper; turmeric and black pepper combo is great for health. Black pepper not only increases bioavailability of turmeric but also provides several other health benefits. The only issue with the turmeric is that most of the curcumin that is ingested gets metabolized before it can get absorbed. Piperine (key chemical in black pepper) is said to help make curcumin more bioavailable.This could be because it could inhibit certain intestinal digestive enzymes. There are lots of scientific evidence about this, for instance one study found that when even 2g of curcumin was ingested, its serum levels were very low. However, when 20mg piperine was added to curcumin the bioavailability increased by 2000%.But some PRECAUTIONS Black pepper must not be consumed in excess of 1 tsp a day when certain medications like digoxin or phenytoin are being taken.The rate at which these medications are cleared by the liver could slow down when black pepper is consumed in excess.Turmeric as spice is considered to be very safe. Turmeric supplements must not be consumed in excess and for long periods. This could cause indigestion, dizziness, nausea or diarrhea.

Well worth the price, thank you ever so much :) I'm going to be making shots from this, as it stands I've been adding them to my so called *Super Shakes* Which consist of natural sources to aid in my well being, such as, maca powder, green tea extract, baobab, cacoa and a couple of others - in this scenario it isn't the most splendid taste however it blends together really well.I'm planning on offering some to my grandmother to see if she'd like to cook anything with it, knowing her as I do - I think she'd also be pleased with the texture of the ginger.

After reading in this months addition of WDDTY that this can undo some of the damage related to alzheimers (which I don't have, I might add) I decided to buy a bulk batch rather than tablets which are more expensive.Faced with the problem of how to take it, I added a heaped teaspoonful to my blender with an old banana and some milk.Funnily enough my two year old doesn't normally like my homemade banana milk shake, but with the added turmeric, he took mine from me and I had to make another one! Strangely, the spice does add a depth to the drink.I also like this in a hot drink with manuka honey and lemon or ginger.

Will be ordering again as Turmeric is so important and incredible plant - it heals so many things and keeps the body healthy. I've been using this to make golden paste, which is basically to make powder, coconut oil, and black pepper (apparently the black pepper allows you to digest/ absorb the Turmeric properly). I was hoping it would help with inflammation, but for me, text form of aches and pains all over my back. After just one week of using it, I can say I am feeling improvement generally, my back is definitely less painful.My friend recommends it for arthritis, she uses a keyboard and swears by the stuff to alleviate wrist and joint pain.

No complaints here. Long lasting with a good taste and made some lovely meals.

I had been using another organic ginger powder, but once it ran out I ordered this one to try. I am really glad that I did, as this is a much better ginger powder, both with smell, taste and texture. I have this in my coffee every day for health benefits and the difference between this powder and the old powder I used is amazing. The 500g bag is huge compared to the amount that I use, but it will last ages. I will certainly be using this one again.

I've had a swollen palm for years due to constant pad work (boxing) and a friend of mine mentioned Turmeric on Facebook so I thought I got nothing to lose so bought me a large half a kilo bag, I take a spoonful with warm water or milk in the morning and again in the evening and it's the only thing, apart from the doctors steroid he has pumped into it over the years that has really worked, reduced the swelling and the pain, it's a small miracle and I swear by the stuff, now I haven't got to face the SS receptionist that work at the doctors surgery, win win situation.
