Tried this on a concrete patch where I repaired a portion of our driveway. Works great - please use goggles and the angle-grinder's guard because small concrete fragments shoot out fast. But, with some effort I was able to smooth a very rough section down to the smoothness of the rest of the driveway. Almost no detectable wear on the wheel, so this will last a while.

Used two of these to grind concrete pool deck imperfections &c cracks before filling, and prep entire surface before repainting. Works great!

I had a high repair to my slab that I wanted to grind smooth. This worked very well. Didn't seem to wear much at all

This grinding wheel worked great, although I should have also got a coarser one to start with; As it was, I used a chisel to take off the corner of the lifted sidewalk section, then smoothed it with this wheel. I used it on multiple sidewalk sections.

A diamond segmented surface grinding wheel is the only way to remove 'thinset' quickly and efficiently. Stop wasting your money on tile scraping tools to remove thinset. Tile scraping tools will not remain sharp long enough to put a dent in any job requiring thinset removal. Additionally, significant difference with regard to 'pain and suffering' effects when the task is completed utilizing a grinding wheel vs tile scraper. Highly recommend the addition of a dust shroud attachment and wetting the surface to be removed. My area was approximately 7x10. Finished thinset removal in under 3hrs only because my shop vac did not meet minimum threshold requirement as it pertained to CFM.

Ground flat surfaces on a 12"x7.5" piece of chert rough rock from Texas. Used ~half a disc to complete. Tried disc both wet and dry on this piece. Worked better than expected and actually left a smoother finish than anticipated.Took longer to build an adjustable wooden frame to safely retain rock during surface grinding than to actually grind 2x flat surfaces.

Had to remove porcelain tiles for repair and used this grinder wheel to remove the thinset. It cut thru it like butter. This absolutely the best way to remove thinset. Other grinder stones are slow. Also recommend a dust free shroud for the angle grinder that you hook up to a shop vac for a dust free grinding experience.
