JBL InSet 16/22 CristalProfi e1500/1,2, Suction pipe complete set for external aquarium filters

Good quality, robust intake set.I bought this set to replace the intake set included with an AquaEL Ultramax 1500 external filter, i ordered size 16/22 and that's what i received, it should be noted that the U fitting appears to be bigger than 16/22 but the hose connection point is definitely 16/22.The reason it appears bigger is because it is manufactured this way is to accommodate the telescopic extension, I've read reviews where people complain they've been sent the wrong size, it would seem they have simply looked at it and made the assumption that it's the wrong size without first trying to see if it actually fits a 16/22 filter pipe.I have also read reviews where people have complained that the intake set is covered in an oily substance, the substance is AQUARIUM-SAFE silicone lubricant for the telescopic tube on the intake, the lubricant is applied to ensure the telescopic tube can move up or down, the telescopic tube has a rubber sealing washer at the top end, if this was not lubricated and left dry the sealing washer would stick to the outer tube and be pulled off as soon as you tried to move it, the lubricant is exactly the same that you would apply to external filter seals to keep them in good working condition.After thoroughly rinsing the intake i have it installed in the tank and it works better than the original intake supplied with the AquaEL filter.I also have the JBL spray bar set (In Set) both are good quality and robust and they should last a long time.The one and only issue I'm annoyed about is the fact that JBL do not include suction cups with these products, I don't understand why as they could easily be included, i suppose it's a way of making extra money, I've had to order them separately and at £7 plus for a set of just 2 suction cups they are not cheap.However, I'm more than happy with the outlet and intake sets and will definitely buy from JBL again.

Love these inlets as I use them as part of my water change kit and they are perfect being adjustable

Fit well and works well, handy to be able to extend the tube to reach nearer the bottom of the tank unlike my previous inlet. would suggest to take it apart and soak then clean before fitting as had a oil like substance in the pipe that seperates from the main inlet pipe

Used this to replace the original on my eheim professional canister filter.It’s really good actually, good solid construction and the back colour is good.

This item is basic but OK, hasn't any suckers with it to help secure it to the glass which it really needs

attaches to a standard garden hose so perfect for weekly water changes. Wish I had got this sooner!
