Take Your Time
If you're reading this review, it's probably safe to assume that you have a Cue Touchscreen that GM made the baffling decision to utilize a gel medium that is almost guaranteed to delaminate and/or dry out and crack, resulting in 90% of the "Comfort & Convenience" options no longer working properly. I recently purchased a 2014 Cadillac XTS Premium, and the touchscreen only worked in a very small area around the outside of the display. Initially, I learned to manipulate most features via the in-dash display & steering wheel controls. However, I could not find a workaround to pair my phone with the car, and I could only stand to listen to the same 3 CD's I still own so many times. I researched the issue, felt a sense of injustice upon realizing that this was due to a blatant example of planned obsolescence, purchased this replacement screen (I agonized over whether I should purchase an entirely new media center module, or if this would suffice), and proceeded to watch hours of YouTube tutorials detailing exactly what to do. From removing an unnecessary amount of interior panels, determining what steps created headaches most frequently, trying to figure out if there were any mistakes that I could make that would cause the vehicle to spontaneously explode (or just brick the media center)... this issue conservatively consumed about a week of my life. To be fair, much of that was spent wringing my hands trying to decide whether I was proficient/competent enough to effect the repair myself. Eventually, I had a full day off and just went for it. I'll give you a few bits of advice, based on my experience: 1. Have a child, or someone with small hands help you. There are a few steps in replacing the module that will be nigh impossible unless you have this, a magnetic extendo-stick, or one of those "scalp massage plunger grabbers" that a lot of mechanics have. 2. If you have a socket adapter for a drill, use it. And while on this subject, make sure you have a deep 7mm socket, a 1/4" driver extension, and a flexible bit extension will save you SIGNIFICANT frustration. 3. Take your time when removing anything secured by clips. This isn't to say that some parts won't require you to have mixed spinach with your Wheaties for breakfast, but a lot of these pieces can break very easily if wrenched... and I, for one, express frustration almost exclusively by wrenching things. In conclusion, my experience with this was only made frustrating by my own anticipation of failure. Replacing the actual screen was the easiest fix I've ever effected. If you're buying this replacement, odds are that you aren't in the habit of throwing money away, so if you're going to replace it yourself, give yourself about 2 hours of uninterrupted free time. It probably won't take that long, but still... oh, and as for the bolt under the ashtray... that thing can do one!

Nice quality replacement screen.
I used the enclosed instructions and a YouTube video to get this done. It looks great. It works great. The instructions would benefit from better/larger pictures. A few of the images were difficult to see the precise location of the screws. But if I can do it, anyone can.

Awesome to have the touch screen back
Definitely look up the "how to install" video especially just getting to the head unit. It will make it so much easier. Once I made it to the head unit screen was very easy to install and working after testing before putting everything back. Took around 2 hrs but most of that time is getting to the head unit and putting everything back.
