Great product, exactly what I needed and the silicone mat included is really useful

Coming from an engineering background my review is based on construction and quality. The opinions given are my own and are based solely on my knowledge of metal fabrication.The pressed Stainless Steel construction is okay and looks nice with the brushed finish though the manufacturing quality is distinctly average in my opinion. That said however this shouldn't put you off buying a pair. Marketed as 'Barbecue Tongs' stainless steel is a very robust material and a must for cooking utensils and stops them going rusty unlike the cheaper chrome plated alternatives. I am sure these tongues will do their job adequately and certainly perform as well as a more expensive product. I like the push-pull locking mechanism on the handle which is certainly a useful touch.As described by the seller, these tongs do have a Silicone handle though this is only a thin strip on the flat sides of the handle, the outer edges/sides have no silicone protection and so still present a slight risk for burnt fingers! From a safety aspect I would like to see more silicone protection on the handles to cover the outer edges too.I have marked this product down one star due to the aluminium rivet system on the handle which could have been much better in my opinion. Rivets of the kind used can sometimes break with repeated use though this is quite a minor niggle.All in all an okay product and one which I believe is fairly priced considering you get two pairs. The addition of the free silicone mat is also a nice touch and one which can be used for many applications around the home.Despite my somewhat anal review, I would have no problem in recommending these tongs. The current selling price is just about right!

First off, I received these at a discounted price for review, this in no way affected my thoughts though. I tend to put things I get for review through it's paces ;) Anyway. These were nicely packed and easy to open. The tongs themselves are really good looking, I hooked them on hooks I have in the kitchen and they looked like exactly what they are, good quality! There are a lot of things to like about these. They are sturdy, light and easy to handle. They open to a descent size too. Some tongs only open a certain length and it's often hard to pick up big pieces of food, but these were great.The silicone grip feels strong and durable. Even when wet, it wasn't slippy. The groves at the bottom make them really easy to grip any kind of foods. I even managed to make them grip some spaghetti!! I love that we get 2 different sizes also. The long one was really handy for when I wanted to turn the ham in the large pot. I really didn't find anything with these that I didn't like! I've already recommended them to a lot of my friends!!And for bonus points, we get a good quality pot mat too. This just sweetened the deal as the mat was ideal for my needs!!A must have for cooks and really anyone that cooks anything!!

Great and easy to use tongs! One comment I could make is that you should dry them straight after washing them, mine have watermarks on it if I let them air dry. Otherwise they do the job and the two sizes are very useful! Really nice seller as usual, very helpful and reactive to any questions
