Quality & reliable.
Love this. No more yelling, when my labrador wonders off. Brilliant help for him to find me. As any whistle, it's not magic. But a brilliant safety net when he does totally gets lost.

Have only just tested it out but I already love it
I already have trained my dog a bit to come to those plastic acme whistles before so he's got a head start but this whistle is absolutely fantastic so clear, easy to blow, travels around a mile or so, and I live in an area with a lot of older people so when I'm in the garden training with my dog none of them will hear it as it's such a high frequency! (only on the first setting) it is also so much nicer to use than the plastic acme whistle as this one doesn't hurt my ears as much when blowing. This product is so great and I'd reccomend to anyone who's whistle training their dog, but I'd like to reiterate that this will not stop your dog/other dogs from barking if you just blow it, this whistle will only work if you train the dog to stop barking when you blow the whistle! The best thing about this for me is I have a very nervous/reactive dog and Ive found it very hard to replicate commands in the exact same tone every time which makes him very unsure and makes me have to repeat commands over and over but with the whistle it's so easy to get that consistency that makes him confident in what I'm wanting him to do!

Great whistle
Great dog whistlePurchased this whistle as our 6 month old cocapoo has taken to rubbing his head and eating various types of poo, and after some research a whistle seems to be the way to go to move him away from temptation as quickly as possible. We'll I, m on day 2 of training and things are going well.Never took any notice at first but after associating the whistle with his favourite treat we are making good progress. After about 40 small chicken treats he bounds over after he hears 3 toots of the whistle. Still some way to go but research suggests it will take a month or so to become instinctive to return. Some key pointsQuality: very well made, quite heavy which I like as it feels nice in the hand.Sound: provides a range of frequencies from virtually inaudible to quite loud, I have set it to a low whistle so I can hear the sound when calling.A small screw is provided to lock to the desired frequency, ensure you tighten this, as it is lickly to loosen and fall out.Value for money: slightly on the pricey side but I'm hoping it will last for some time due to build quality.

I am sure this might work for some, however not for us
I bought this to use as a training aid, recall device for 2 x cocker puppies.Despite following a number of guides and videos on how to train your dog to recall using a wistle, we had zero success with both of them. Neither of them gave any indication of interest or acknowledgement. Now it is adjustable and I tried it through the full range, it is possible to hear it at one end of the scale, so I know it was making a noise but no success at all.We then switched to a traditional wistle and using exactly the same technique managed to get both of them recalling on a single short blow on the traditional whistle, so I don't think it was the approach we took to trying to train them.Perhaps it's just our dogs as I know other people that have been successful with silent whistles and it would have been my preference but unfortunately it was not to be.

Great Dog whistle
This whistle is an excellent adjustable tool to help control your dog's behaviour. When I blow this three times my Cocker Spaniel comes running back to me immediately. You can adjust it to be in silent mode and although you won't hear it your dog can. I recommend buying this Acme Dog Whistle.

Rubbish! Came Apart After Just 7 Weeks!
The end fell off after just 7 weeks because the screw came loose. Wasn't even used everyday so the screw must not have been tightened properly. I understand these things happen but the customer service was terrible. They basically said it was the customers responsibility to maintain and tighten all screws and therefore they do not accept any liability. Would you really check/tighten screws on anything that you purchase after just 7 weeks use? Is that reasonable to expect of a customer? Screws should not be loose in the first instance so it was clearly a manufacturing fault. I don't usually leave bad reviews but unfortunately on this occasion I feel I need to. The whistle was not cheap and it falling apart after 7 weeks is not acceptable. I wouldn't recommend buying from this company, their customer service is awful. They've also put up their price, I paid £13.71 and now it's gone up to £16.95 so shop around you'll get it much cheaper elsewhere.

I was beyond delighted by the results
Worked wonders for my neighbourhood dogs. They were driving everyone insane with their constant barking, especially in the late evenings, and the owners were ignoring them. So I turned to this as a last desperate resort, not really expecting any miracles.I was beyond delighted by the results!Everytime they start barking I stand by the window and gave it a few blasts. it took a few weeks but the dogs learnt and they stop almost instantly when they hear it. They key is consistancy, you must use it every time you hear the barking and cover all the required frequencies for the different sized dogs. The higher frequences are truly silent and work brilliantly for the small dogs, the larger dogs tended to need the lower frequencies, which are audiable.Great range, easy to adjust, very effective. My one complaint is that the whistle cover tends to get stuck and needs some force to remove sometimes. Not really a major problem and it doesn't hinder the efficiency of the product, but it can be a slight annoyance.
