The Hairy Bikers Ride Again Hardcover – 12 April 2007

Having met the Hairy Bikers in the Isle of Man this year,(2009) I already had one of their cookery books, and so I was keen to add to my collection. This couple of laid back chefs, are really a treat to watch when they give a demo. They are both so 'normal' with non of the 'how great am I' attitude that is found in a lot(but not all), of chefs on TV today. This book is a pleasure, so much more than a cookery book. The book gives an indepth insight into their travels around the world, in their quest to source the 'local products'. They both share their individual experiences with us, and the recipes are easily understood. The recipes are different from our normal daily cusine(which can sometimes become boring), and although not all of the ingredients are inexpensive, they are mostly within the reach of the general public on limited incomes. I always look at the ingredients in a cookery book to see if they are affordable, as some of our more flamoyant chefs seem to think that we all pull in mega salaries, but that just is'nt the case with a lot of us. Therefore I can recommend this book, not only as a tour around a lot of places that most of have'nt seen, but also for the lovely illustrations and varied recipes, and of course the delightful 'Hairy Bikers' duo!

Just what I wanted

This has some really good recipes and quite a lot of filler. I prefer their Hairy Dieters books, but still have some favourites from this one.

A lovely book, not just a cookbook, also a 'travelogue', with lots of interesting info re: the countries they visited. Beautiful pictures and helpful info about the food and spices used. If you're a fan of The Hairy Bikers (and who isn't?), you will love this!

A fantastic and informative book that has been well written,some brillent recipes from all over the country and the best of everything that has come out from the TV series.I have followed these two ever since they burst onto the screen with thier fine wit and would hope that the comedy double act will have the DVD of this fine series to complement the book.I would recommend this book and any of the others that goes with these two great tv chefs for fine cooking without breaking the bank,with plenty to make you laugh.

Forget the ponsy southern cooks (and the pseudo notherns who have moved south - hey Gordon), these are real lads who cook real food and know how to enjoy themselves at the same time. Anyone who is as big as me and is willing to strip to his Y fronts to show where each cut of meat comes from is one up in my book - you would not see Delia (even after having a drink at a Norwich game) doing that.A book of real food for real people - nothing fancy, but something different you can feed yourself and the kids during the week.
