Use these for my ferrets, they love it! It keeps them nice & cosy. I use it throughout the year, just to keep them snug. In the winter they burrow into it making nice deep holes where they can all snuggle up together & in the summer months, they pile it up, dig through it, throw it up in the air, throw it out the door (am sure they do that deliberately so I've got more cleaning to do lol) I'm sure they actually do a spring clean type of thing & throw the dirtier stuff out the door, keeping the cleaner stuff in the bedroom. Then when it comes to bedtime, they'll make a little nest & curl up to go to sleep. As it's all shorter pieces it's better than the huge bag I got from my farm shop. Not for economy, but because I've developed arthritis in my hands &'can no longer pull apart the longer strands that are in the bigger bag 'as cut', meaning you've got about 50 sheets together & need to separate them before putting them in. I used to do it into a big trug, but it's murder on the hands, especially when you're doing enough to fill a 6' chicken house! Amazon do supply a similar size bag of this, the smaller pieces, it's not by Safebed (can't remember the brand) it's well worth it if you've got the space to store it, it's about the size of a bale of hay. I get this under the subscribe and save scheme & save 15% off the price (have 5 items a month) so this is better for me otherwise I'd get the bigger bag. There's also a sachet bag that Amazon sell.. For the nest box in my 6' x 4'4"chicken house, I used to use about 5-6 of those bags so for the price, I never found them worth it. With this bag, I use 1 a month, with half at the total change (use hay, Carefresh etc too) & the rest as top ups through the month

Perfect for our hamster
I chose this over other options because it was promised to arrive quickly as we had run out. Thankfully it did and my hamster has been enjoying it ever since. Nothing to complain about - it's nice and soft for snuggly bedding and is a good size pack for a sensible price.

Great bedding for small rodent pets
Purchased for my 2 fancy rats. Seems to be good at absorbing and doesn't cause them any sinus issues so overall happy with the purchase and will get again.

Good bedding but doesn’t control smell.
I bought this for my fancy rats to use over winter. I put it in their Sputnik and rest areas to keep them warm. It’s very good quality but I found that it retains smells, rats are very lazy and will toilet in their own bed. The smell became too much therefore I will not be buying more, I’m currently popping a handful of their usual litter in their rest areas and giving them strips of paper to nest and keep warm which is working well and controls smells. I’ve gave this 4 stars as it is virtually dust free and did keep my rats toastie but on my behalf too smelly.

Both my Syrian and my Russian Dwarf hamsters love the Petlife Safebed paper shavings
Both my Syrian and my Russian Dwarf hamsters love the Petlife Safebed paper shavings. It's very low dust, keeps odour down, can be safely pouched and actually adds quite a lot of enrichment. My issue is that I can't buy bigger packs.Hamster housing minimum requirements have grown as people have come to understand and appreciate hamster behaviour better. Thirty years ago, when I had my first Syrian hamster, one bag might have done two clean-outs of a 3 storey rotastack cage, but now my cage is much bigger (55cm x 38cm, though still below the UK recommended size) and one of these bags barely does one clean-out. My Syrian likes a deep litter (5cm approx), which she pushes round and reorganises for hours on end.In this world of better enlightened hamster keepers, bedding pack sizes need to increase to match the bigger housing requirements.

nice and soft and I'm sure our two rabbits will ...
It feels ok, nice and soft and I'm sure our two rabbits will love it. But the bag is small and the whole lot has gone in in one go. I have a bog-standard hutch and I've used the whole bag in their bedding area, as well as topping it off with a fair amount of hay.So, whilst the product itself seems great, it will work out very expensive if I have to use a whole bag at a time. It is, after all, just recycled paper.

Fast shipping and excellent packaging. The Leatherman tool feels very premium and sturdy.
