Good to go! Literally!
Adding Update 8/4/23Now that we used this for a few months. I thought it would be great to add to the review.Due to some chickens were getting shut out using dawn/dusk mode. We set morning and night timers. This worked out great with no more shut outs. The security and durability has also lived up to expectations. If your coop is in an area that gets full Sun for many hours you'll not likely have this problem. For us the coop doesn't get direct Sun light for many hours. More like 4 to 5 hours of direct Sun light. Because of this sometimes the battery does not charge all the way. The door closes fine in the evening, however, it sometimes fails to open in the morning. Strangely though a manual open works, and the door opens for a random amount of days. It is intermittent in that respect. So still a good idea to check the door each day if you can.Very pleased with this product though.Once ordered it arrived quickly.Very easy to install.Set up was simple too.We can now go places without having to worry if the chickens are ok or not.Two things to note. Do charge the batteries before first use as suggested in the instructions. It will work without charging them but the solar panel is small and maynot recharge enough. We skipped this step and found that the door would not open due to low battery conditions. So after charging the battery to full capacity the problem was alleviated.Secondly we used dawn to dusk settings and the door worked well. The chickens however lingered outside too long. A couple got shut out. So we went to timer instead and the problem again was alleviated.

Works for 6 weeks then stops.
Purchased this product TWICE. The first one came, and we installed with no problem. We initially had it set to a timer, which was great for our family. The timer stopped working within weeks, so we set it to open with the solar panel at morning light. This worked well for a short time, however the cord to the solar panel is really too short (maybe two feet long) to mount the panel anywhere that will get much light - our coop is under a tree, so it stays dim even beyond sunrise. Once this became a problem we decided we'd try again with a new one. Surely it had to be a fluke with the good reviews we saw. We replaced the door with the same model, and were once again pleased with it initially. We have had this second one for almost a year, but the timer again is broken, and the light sensor is no longer working. We must open the coop by hand, which sounds so lazy, but on days we leave before sun-up, it is just not safe to let the birds out, so we've relied on this door to help us out there. Very disappointed in the quality of this door, and we will not purchase again. We've replaced with a Run Chicken door, and we're hoping it lives up to its reputation.

Works great, but difficult to program. Worth the money overall, would buy again
This door was fairly simple to install with the instructions and measurements included. It would be nice to have a template to trace instead. Also, it has worked like a charm at night and closes all the chickens in at the set time, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out why it is not working in the morning. I have set and reset the timer several times just to come out in the morning to see the door still closed. It definitely could be user error, I haven't given it much attention to try to figure it out. Also, the remote only has a power feature, it would be nice if the remote had an option to open and close the door from a distance, so I can't speak much to the benefit of the remote.I do like that it has an anti-pinch feature when the door closes, but that also seems to be hit or miss, sometimes working, sometimes not.Overall, it has been a nice addition to the coop, and I hope to get it working fully before we go out of town.

Works well, great security.
Works well, love the roll up and down door. It will stop midway and roll back up if detects an obstruction one time. You need to have your chickens well trained or have a roster to ensure they enter and stay in the coop. If your chickens keep sticking theirs hood, you might need more ventilation. I love they so, much I got one for each of my coops.

Not quality I'd expect for the price.
I waited a bit to write this because I wanted to make sure I had a good idea of how the door functioned over time, and not just a knee-jerk. We bought this product strictly for the automatic function. However, this thing truly decides when it will and will not function properly. The picture attached is at 8:30 a.m. As you can see, the door did not open when the sun came up two hours earlier. This was the second day in a row. It functioned properly the three days before.Albeit, the instructions are intricate, but I'm positive I have it set to open and close with the sun coming up and going down (both open and close buttons flashing green). Some days we have to open it and it will close on its own (and yes before you ask, as you can see in the picture there is plenty of daylight). Other days it will open on its own and we have to close it. It functioned for three days perfectly. Then two days it didn't. I'm starting to think it's a bad sensor maybe?I left two stars because the install was easy enough, and I like how the door operates when it functions properly. It lost three stars because well, who knows when it will function properly?
