Adobe Photoshop CS6 Bible

There were three things that turned me off about this book, which was enough to request an RMA:1) The pictures in the book are black-and-white. Photoshop is not a cheap program; it wasn't designed to be cheap, and it's designed to work in professional industry. People pay to get certified in the use of this program, and to see black-and-white images in a book of this size and detail is insufficient. The majority of the users of Photoshop are editing in color - books need to cater to that user-base.2) I will agree that the word 'bible' is appropriately used - the author put some great detail into the book, but this seems to be more laid out as a form of reference or encyclopedia, than it does to help people learn the product. Many of the reviews indicate this detail, and perhaps I should have considered my options more carefully.3) There was no disc included with the book that included the images used within the book. Those sample images are helpful as to help you create a visual association as you're learning different features. If I were taking a course through a school, the professor usually includes certain images in their lecture, which they will then share with you, which also assists the professor in making sure you're learning the concepts..

I am sad that I do not have more time to work with this book. It appears to be comprehensive, but the format is a bit intimidating with a 23 page TOC. I think if I were taking a class, I would love to have this book as a textbook.

This book is a great help in my efforts to learn and do photoshop procedures and exercises.

I found "Adobe Photoshop CS6 BIBLE" to be even better than I had hoped it would be. It is a very thorough book, and is well illustrated. I have been learning a lot from it and I seriously doubt there will be much if anything I am wanting to know that it doesn't cover. I have already recommended the book to several of my friends who have also ordered it, and I will recommend it to anyone that wants a great tutorial and reference manual covering Photoshop CS6.

The book arrived in excellent condition I’m using this to learn some advanced techniques with adobe Photoshop.

This is by far the best book about Photoshop that I have had the pleasure to read yet, bar none. Every aspect is covered and I think you'll discover things you did not even know. Everything is explained in plain easy to understand english, so you can try for yourself. Not only that, but this book goes deep - and bring's to light, all the hidden qualities of Photoshop, that makes this program so amazing. This is one of those books, you can't put down, once you start reading. In one word - Super!!!

This is exactly what I needed.

Overwhelmed, this thing is sooo big. Been reading it for over a week and haven't scratched the surface.How could anyone ever remember all the material presented here. This is a great reference piece however. This will be invalueable in the future.

Well, it certainly is a Bible! It also includes the video editing section, which most tutorials don't. It's a little vague as to which part of the video editing section relates to the standard version or the extended version. However, it's still a very good purchase.Only negative I can point out, is that the examples are not in colour. You have to download the pictures from the Website or look at the examples on-line. This can be a little inconvenient if you are not logged in to their Website when reading the book. Best thing is to download all the examples and then you'll have everything to hand.

Where I really find the value in this book is extensive introduction to not only Photoshop, but also the underlying principles of editing.Very thourough, I still didnt read all, and it will take a lot of time before I do, but whatever I found was extremely useful and clear.Recommended

The book is for CS6 not CC nor the CC version of CS6 - no prolem for me as that was the reason I bought it.

A fabulous, well presented and packed source of information and makes an excellent reference to those using Photoshop CS6; all at a very affordable price too!

Comprehensive desktop backup for when using photoshop, clear and well laid out instructions but overall let down by only B&W illustrations
