Actual stereo cassette player! ADJUST THE AZIMUTH IF PLAYBACK IS MUFFLED.
After trying out several other cheap “stereo” cassette players from Amazon that all turned out to be just mono, this one has turned out great. It has an actual stereo head, and the playback speed has been just about spot on out of box. If you need to adjust the speed, there’s a small port on the back where you can easily adjust the motor speed with a tiny screwdriver. Wow and flutter is also surprisingly minimal as far as I can tell (practically non existent to my ears, but I’m not the biggest audiophile either). One thing to note is that the azimuth of the head was a little off out of the box, leading to slightly muffled playback. This is also easily adjustable with a small screwdriver. For those who might be unfamiliar, the azimuth adjustment affects how lined up the head is to the tape. So if you find the audio is a little muffled, try turning the little screw next to the head (it should have some red paint on it, there’s also a little cutout for it when the cover is open). The only complaint I might have is that the case closure is uninspiring. It doesn’t really click shut, it just stays closed under spring pressure. No issue really, as it doesn’t affect playback. I guess just try and avoid inadvertently pulling it open while it’s running. Overall, great little player for the price.

Loud back ground noise
I bought this to use for Church meetings. Very loud, buzzing back ground noise and muffled voices. Very disappointed.

Fully recommended
Perfect stereo cassette PLAYER. I bought two of them. Both came rolling over-speed though, around 3.040Hz, simply tunned through its back screw until the standard 3.000Hz. The same mechanism used into "Toshiba/Aurex Walky" model AX-W10C. Also the same as WE ARE REWIND( but this one has adapted metal/brass flywheel ). Non of them allows to record properly, unfortunately, thanks to "permanent-magnet erase head" and "automatic record level", resulting in constant wheezing and noisy distortion. But to playback those are perfect. By far this family, with this mechanism, is nowadays what remains as the best brand new portable cassette player. Five-star fully recommended.

You get what you pay for......
Sound quality is just barely a 3 as theres no depth to the music and its left sounding high and trebly even with good headphones. Otherwise it does operate as expected. I gave it a 3 for value as when your teenager with 0 responsibility asks to borrow your classic Sony walkman you can say no but here use this instead and when they drop it or forget it in their friends car never to be seen again you haven't lost a classic just a $30. piece of chineseum junk. Therein lies the value of this.

Excellent to listen to music, not so much to record
I was quite surprised with the quality of the product, it is plastic of course, but it feels solid enough. At first I thought the window was scratched, but then I found out it was just a little plastic protector. You might have to adjust the speed with the screw in the back, if so I recommend to do it in very small increments. The sound is real stereo (it was difficult to take the photo of the tape head because of reflections, but as you can see it is stereo) and the quality is pretty decent, maybe not the best as some say, but, honestly, you don't expect HQ sound out of a cassette. The only problem I have is with recording, when doing it with the internal microphone quality is ok, you have to speak louder than normal for it to pick it up, but it works. The problem is using an external microphone because you got to turn down the volume of it a lot if you don't want the audio to sound awfully saturated and my unit seems to record more in the right channel than in the left, is quite odd. But overall, it is a nice unit, it even seems to save battery, mine has played around 6 tapes with half charged batteries and is still going. Also, mine hasn't eaten any tapes yet, so my only complaint is with recording with external microphones. I'd say buy it if you want to.

Great while it lasted, but serious longevity issues.
This player for the cheap price had a decent sound, because it had a stereo output (some players at this price point only play mono). The problem with this player is longevity. I only played about 10 hours worth of tapes, owning about 30 days, and the headphone jack was inoperable (any headphone set plugged in resulted in a buzzing noise and moving it made it worse or better). I even kept it in a case, away from heat, and cleaned the tape heads over 10 hours of playback. I never dropped it or anything. I'm not sure if I got unlucky or if all products are like this. In any case, this product would benefit from some type of warranty (ensuring at least some time of use before breaking).

Probably the best bang for your dollar under 100 usd
I tried the fiio cp-13 and the wow and flutter was evident when tilting the player, this one is less noticeable but has bit more hiss at higher volume. The sound quality is similar to the most expensive model… I think that this design is based on the Mulaan B-1000. Time will tell on how the build quality is… so far it’s good.

Junk
Out of the box, it only works in one ear and sounds absolutely terrible (even on better headphones). I wouldn't accept this even if it were free. Avoid at all costs

Pelo preço vale muito. Consegui tocar fitas estéreo e gravar mono.
