Ok, more decorative than functional
Not very heavy and not very well balanced. They will do the job, but if push came to shove, I'm sure they would fall down. Like, literally, fall down. If the intent is more decorative, then they are well stylized and appear in person as they do on the webpage

Great Gift
So I ordered these for my wife's desk and it came the next day with the head missing for one but Amazon was quick to replace it so I won't mark it down for that. Things happen. Anyways it looks very good. It's heavy and great quality, not too big or small. Made of metal so durable and can hold your books in place. Overall a great pick.

Heavy and beautiful
I could not love these book ends more. They are very heavy and gold books in place very well, even some rather large books. They look lovely on the bookcase and receive regularly compliments from coworkers who can see them in my Zoom background.
