Mostly awesome.
The biodegradable feature was the main reason I bought these. The other bags I'd bought by earthrated claimed on their website that they are biodegradable but that they couldn't put it on the box due to some specific requirements not being met... that made me think those other bags were not as biodegradable as they need to be to claim it. These ones are. Cool. They are also unscented which is nice. Scented bags are a cool idea but the box can make your whole room smell. Anyway, my only complaint about these is that the pattern is continuous from bag to bag so it's hard to see where the dotted line is to rip the bag. Especially when walking a dog in the evening when it's not so bright. I sometimes end up pulling considerable amount of the second bag out before finding the dotted tear line. That's the only complaint though.

They would be excellent for dogs
I bought these for cat litter. They would be excellent for dogs. Okay for cats. I like to use a bag to scoop for 2-3 days, and these are too small for that, more of a one day size. So they are nicely made, I like that there is no scent, but too small for good cat use. Excellent for dog use.

A very good choice, all things considered
Biodegradable plastic is a complex topic. These bags use something called d2w technology, otherwise known as oxo-biodegradable plastic. The problem is that they need oxygen to degrade and if buried deep in a landfill are inert and will not degrade. Other technologies such as starch-based bags will continue to degrade even in anaerobic environments, but have the unfortunate side-effect of producing methane gas, which contributes to global warming. There are no easy answers.Unlike starch-based bags which easily tear and lose their contents, these bags are strong. They are also thin, which minimizes the amount of plastic waste.Even though they won't degrade if buried in a landfill, the d2w is still a nice touch. It means that if a bag gets out of hand and blows away, it will degrade much quicker than regular plastic. One minor nit. The bags are somewhat see-through, so if you are on a walk with your dog, the waste can be seen inside the bag. But with the green coloring, this is a very minor issue and not really a negative. And it is far better than a heavy plastic opaque bag which probably uses 2-3 times as much plastic. The bottom line is that these are thin yet strong bags and I like them very much for the intended purpose.

Truth in Advertising
Even on Amazon it is incredibly difficult to find biodegradable doggie bags. Most companies advertise that their bags are "eco minded" but when you read the fine print you find that they are not biodegradable at all, but made with conventional plastic. These bags tell you straight up that they are made from d2w plastic and will biodegrade. Although I can't wait around for five years to make sure this is true I've done a little research with d2w plastic and it seems that they are in fact biodegradable. As with other reviewers, I wish the bags were a little more solid in color because you do see the waste after you pick it up. Also I noticed that the only waste in each roll is a small black plastic tube that the bags are rolled with. I think these are made with conventional plastic. How awesome would it be to have no waste at all?The bags themselves fit regular dog bag holders so that's a big plus. So far the bags don't leak or tear so that's awesome. They do exactly what you want them to do.

Too small for litter box cleanup!!!
Maybe they're fine for cleaning up dog messes, but they are much too small for kitty litter scoops, which is why we bought them. Very disappointed that we cannot get a full refund on these bags bags we cannot use.

I love everything about these bags (well, maybe not what goes in it!)
I love everything about these bags! We actually use them when we clean the litter boxes every day. I love that they are bio-degradable and are TRULY biodegradable! They are made with d2w plastic; d2w is an additive that converts ordinary plastic at the end of its useful life into a material with a completely different molecular structure.Eco-Poof bags are polyethylene-free, unscented and are a nice size (you can fit quite a bit of waste in here!) They are super easy to open (don’t need two hands!) No leaking or breaking so far and we have 3 cats to fill 3 litter boxes! The bags are pretty sheer. It’s not a huge deal to me but worth mentioning as it may bother others.Overall, I am very pleased with these bags. Not only because they are bio-degradable but because they are cost effective for both bio-degradable and regular dog waste bags!*Received in exchange for unbiased review*

Great for dogs, way too small for litter boxes
Gave them to a friend (who has a dog), and she loves them! They're perfect for that... but unless you're emptying your litter box twice a day, and only have one cat... chances are, these are too small.

Perfect size for cat clean up!
I have a single cat, but clean his box daily. I burned through my standard collection of shopping bags quickly and needed something that I wouldn't need to keep reordering non-stop. I find the size to be adequate for having one cat. I go through a bag a day, and its easy to just scoop, tie the knot, and dispose of it. The box they come in is small, so they take up minimal shelf space, and even when I get down to the last roll, I know I have plenty of time before I need to reorder.
