Best alternative to GI Joe
This is a very large plane, about 2ft long. I got it for my kids and itâs better than I expected, but you cannot touch a GI Joe plane for that kind of money. The plane is plastic and if kids are rough, it will brake. But if they are the type to respect and play nice with toys (i.e. not try to make it fly on its own) it is great. Really only holds 3.75 inch figured with full moving arms and legs. As a boy I loved GI Joe and as an adult it breaks my heart that the GI Joe toys are so expensive that the average family probably wouldnât and may not be able to afford to buy them. A whole generation of kids will not know the fun we had as kids ourselves. This product fills that void and I hope they continue to produce more action figure toys like it. I have enjoyed playing with my kids, and they have a smile a country mile wide. On a personal note I will say this, these kind of toy can define you as a individual. I made a career of serving my community after playing cops and robbers, watching super hero shows and playing with toys like GI Joe. Growing up around family and friend whom serviced this country and there communities, I found that looking back a simple toy and television shows, coupled with real life experiences, laid the foundation of my beliefs of right and wrong. It started as fictional characters and grew to real life commitments. So I truly believe this was a purchase that my children will grow up to appreciate when they look back to their childhood in years to come.

Great Jet for GI JOE!
This is a great toy for the money. I'm adding this to my GI JOE collection. The figure isn't Joe quality but the jet is. Put some stickers on it and give it a home!

Plane is huge! 1/18 Scale. Impressive
I was not expecting much, based on the images for this product. Images advertising the product does not do this plane justice. Opening the large 'light feeling' box that the plane comes in (picture examples) once opened... the plane is huge at first glance! Detailed lines throughout the thick sturdy plastic. The two wing tips that attaches to planes wings, folds up and also holds missiles. They are fragile for younger children. I would recommend age 7+ and up, due to the planes wing tips and rear fins that can detach easily with rough play. Plane is really nice and the cockpit holds the two pilots that come with the plane. I am impressed with this plane. Selling price is quite high for plastic. I can see this plastic plane at a $30.00 price range. Plane makes for a nice hanging huge model display. The plane's cockpit can hold 3" 3/4" or 4 inch size G.I. Joe, Elite Force, and The Corps action figures. I wish Click N Play would sell the other model planes... the Russian SU and the A-1O on Amazon also.4 stars for being huge and more detailed than expected. For younger children just apply glue to the planes 2 top rear fins and the two wing tips. However if glue is applied YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO STORE PLANE IF YOUR NOT GOING TO KEEP IT ON DISPLAY, WITHOUT BREAKING THE FINS. Plane was made for the fins and wing tips, to be removed easily just in case you want to store it. Also as you all can see from the pictures, the plane is much larger than my favorite G.I. Joe plane, The Cobra Rattler (2008 re-issue) I like this plane and I would order the other models when they become available on Amazon. Airforce almost completed :)

Its Huge
First off this thing is HUGE, I would recommend this thing to anyone who wants a toy with a big presence and who really likes fighter jets. Overall I love this thing, however the canopy can be a bit loose, other than that Its a cool toy. I will make sure to take this thing out for a spin.

NOT A CHILD'S TOY...
Like some shoppers, I've been bitten by the Top Gun Maverick movie craze, and was compelled to buy an F18 to call my own. The only option that I saw was this Click n Play jet, and despite the alarmingly negative reviews, I decided that I could remedy its faults and be ultimately satisfied. I received the jet yesterday and, like most reviewers have stated, this toy is deeply flawed. I will list my observations and any possible remedies:*The rear wheels/landing gear do not lock into place. So, if you have a child who is trying to roll this plane on the ground, it will immediately collapse, since the wheels do not lock into place. I don't have an immediate fix for that; it's just a design shortcoming that exists in the name of cost-cutting.*The canopy will not lock into place. There is a small plastic tab at the front of the canopy that is supposed to, with friction, click into place into the nose of the craft but it is too small to do its job. I have temporarily added clear packing tape to the small plastic tab to allow it go "grab" onto the notch on the nose to help it lock into place, and with the added bulk it works, but it's unsightly. I suppose I can try to build up the tab with epoxy, but that will have to come later. I'm just trying to get into the fight and go see Maverick with this plane!*Wing tips. This is, by far, the worst issue with this toy plane. Absolutely, under no circumstances, should you try to fold up the wing tips like the real-life F18 does, or as this toy's box promises that you can. IF you can even snap the wing tips into place without breaking the small plastic tabs, trying to rotate the wing tips into the vertical position will either see the wing tip fall off, or the small plastic tabs break. A skilled modeler would be able improvise a hinge and pivot system that would reliably allow the wing tips to fold and lock into place, but again, I'm just trying to temporarily get this plane together so I can take it to a showing of Top Gun Maverick. For those of you not willing to invest the time to improvise a hinge system for the wing tips, I suggest gluing the wing tips into place; it is the only way you will get the wing tips to stay on the plane. Installing the wing tips with the intent of following the folding procedure that the real F18 does will result in heartbreak, I promise you.*The tail fins install more firmly than the wing tips, but they're still loose. I will probably glue those into place as they don't need to come off. HOWEVER; those of you with children may end up hurting themselves, as these fins are supposed to detach themselves from the plane if any force is put on them; clearly a safety feature so that a child doesn't stab themselves with the plane. The problem is that they're not designed very well. Yes, they detach to prevent harm to human beings, but they're too loose and will probably fall off just with light play. A great example of a toy fighter plane that has detachable tail fins for safety but still manages to keep the fins firmly installed is the G.I. Joe Skystriker F-14 from 1983. Hasbro designed that toy very well, and the problems that plague this modern F18 toy from Click n Play could have been avoided had they studied the Skystriker plane from almost forty years ago.*Wing hardpoints. There are accessories to attach to the wings of the F18; however some of the accessories are so tight I had to use a rubber mallet to hammer them into place. Others, I was able to slide them on and off of the hardpoint rails with ease. Solution: I had to file down some of the attaching brackets for the accessories that were too tight, which was difficult because you're having to take a very small, thin file and try to take away material from the inside of the attaching points. In summary, if you are trying to buy this plane for your child, be ready for extreme disappointment, as it is not sturdy at all and will break within minutes of handling it. If, you are an over-grown man-child like I am, then you will STILL be disappointed, but if you follow my advice above, or are proficient with scale modeling, then you will be able to redeem this toy F18 by improvising fixes. Unfortunately, this is the only option for a large-scale F18 toy that I know of, so choosing another product is not possible. Good luck all of you, and I'll see you and your jury-rigged planes in the theaters for Top Gun Maverick!

F18 super hornet is a good size
Was pretty annoyed at the price of this toy, but itâs quite large! it is on the sturdier side⌠but we wonder if the wings will last⌠and the cockpit is extremely hard to open for adults, let alone our 7 year old. Wish it didnât cost as much considering they donât make these toys to last boys playing âtop gunâ or âmilitaryâ but it is a large plane which is a big hit in our house!
