Date syrups vary somewhat in flavor profile depending on the type of dates and perhaps the country of origin. I prefer a slightly brighter flavor as I like to use it with plain yogurt. priced very affordably, I buy the sixer because I use it every day. breakfast every day is a chopped banana, tablespoon of peanut or almond butter, same amount of date syrup, cocoa powder with no added sugar. bit of cinnamon, more sprinkled nuts on top. mash it all together so it looks like fudge, bit of hot sauce on top cause that's the way I roll. all superfoods of a sort. the local Persian store is hit and miss with keeping date syrup without added sugar in stock, and besides I don't like the owners very much. they seem to only be friendly to other Persians.
