A Pocket Guide to Snowdon: A Guide to the Routes of Ascent

For those of us that just want to amble up to the top (hopefully) of Snowdonia this is a good book with all of the routes you have heard of given space and even some you may not of heard of. There are some very nice colour photos too and a map showing the six main routes.For the more adventurous climber this book is quite basic in it's descriptions and the aforementioned map is also basic so it probably won't be adequate. I think to sum up it is a five star book for the casual climber and perhaps a three star one for those who want more detail to their climbs. I personally like it though.

What a great little pocket guide. Easy to fit in my pocket but easy to read and understand. would be a must to take if going up any of the routes listed to be used in assosiation with an explorer series o/s map and compass.The introduction is good and I like the background? history of Snowdon which helps explain how the area looks today, for me enhances the views and gives depth to your expiriance. I would recomend this book, which arrived very quickly and well packaged as well.

The book was helpful in deciding which routes to take. We ascended on the pyg and then dropped down onto the miners path coming back down. Still need a nap though.

Fantastic book to have if you are attempting your first climb, or want to try a different route if you have previous experience. Covering the main routes and some extra more difficult ones, it is clear and concise, leaving you to make an informed decision.

Very good. My friend had the same book and I had already read it so decided to buy it. Went to snowdonia a couple of weeks ago so the book came in very useful.

This book didn't contain any information that I wasn't already able to read online in 5 minutes. The path descriptions were basic at best. Maybe it's good for the additional more obscure paths but for the main ones, so not worth the buy. The Llanberis Mountain Rescue website has better info IMO.

Gift for my daughter she found it useful
