King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard: Sketches Of Brunswick East (180g) Vinyl LP

How can I describe King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard? The short answer is that they are who they are. Unique. Psychedelia, pop, rock, jazz, experimental, and progressive. They encapsulate all of that and so much more. For starters they are prolific. With 11 albums since 2012 and more soon to come it makes you wonder if they'll ever run out of ideas.In Sketches of Brunswick East they team up with Mild High Club for an album filled with 60s style psychedelic jazz pop accentuated by modern sensibility and a 60s James Bond cocktail party feel. There are no breaks in the music. It flows well. Light, laid back, summery with flute, xylophone and Indian style horns used as accents it has a distinct vibe that I love.This will certainly be in my heavy rotation stack. Hands down this one of the ten best releases of 2017 in my opinion.

This is a jazz album and while it doesn't feature heavily a brass instrument, it jams along like a long song that meanders through a few themes. You can hear glimpses of Mild High Club (Not "MILE High Club" - Amazon) it doesn't exactly feel like collaboration so in that way the "featuring" is true. I was disappointed in the record at first, expecting a bit more substance but after a few listens at home soaking it in, this is vintage KGLW who are venturing down a path of creativity and experimentation that becomes more apparent with each needle drop. I can't imagine not having this record now.

King Gizzard. These are guys are something else. Every album is a bit different, and this is no exception. Teaming up with the Mild High Club, this album takes us on a 60's lounge psychedelic trip sorta feel.

Saw these two bands together on tour and it was the first time hearing both of them. Needless to say am now a huge fan. Great quality vinyl. Quick delivery and no problem with delivery dings.

Every track sounded perfect, every instrument and sound effect coming through with no distortion (except when intentional). And the yellow w/ blue splatter looks right-on, too.

Just listen to it on YouTube and see how good it is.

This is great and getting better with each listen. If you come to this after some frenzied psyche rock, you will be sorely disappointed. This is a lovely wash of space jazz with some mellower psychedelia thrown in (or is it the other way round?). I’ve really enjoyed some of their earlier efforts but this marks them out as a band not afraid to push out some sonic groove experimentation jams. Highly recommended.

Modern classic. Will hopefully go down in history as Gizzard’s smooth jazz masterpiece. It really is an astonishing album. Different to their other freak out moments, but well worth investing your time and patience.

Allora, i King Gizzard sono riusciti nell'impresa di produrre 5 album in un anno. Questo secondo me è il migliore, non solo per le loro capacità ma anche grazie all'aiuto di un'altro gruppo, i Mild High Club, che per chi non li conoscesse sono uno dei gruppi dai migliori suoni psichedelici del momento. Negli ultimi due anni hanno prodotto 2 album che sono uno più bello dell'altro. Creano un mondo parallelo e ti descrivono ogni sua parte. Un sogno. La copertina è di un cartone molto rigido e spesso un po più grande, circa 1cm, di quelle normali. vinile stampato nel modo corretto, ergo, il suono è pieno e coinvolgente, caldo e corposo.
