KitchenCraft Heat Diffuser / Simmer Ring with Wooden Handle, Silver

very fast & nice product!

This was a lit larger than I expected (about the size of a medium saucepan base) but looks smart and is designed so that either side can be used. Naturally, it diffuses the heat - a little too well, as I've had to increase the heat a lot more than anticipated and/or switch hobs! However, the slight downside is that both sides are showing discolouration and even burning after just three uses. Nonetheless, that doesn't impact its utility so I'm still satisfied with it.

Works fine, nice and flat so works with small pans. Handle might prove to be a bit rickety in time, but only if it gets a battering. Used to temper the enthusiasm of lpg burners in a campervan.

I used this product ONCE and was very careful to keep the handle well away from the flame. However, as the metal diffuser started to heat, the handle started to smoke (from the heat of the metal). As you can see from the photo, the wooden handle has burned through and is now totally loose and the item is unusable. Just wanted a cheap diffuser for camping stove but wish I had gone for a more expensive option as this was a waste of money.

I bought this for my stove top as it has gaps in the metal and some pots don't sit well on it. Unfortunately it didn't work for what I wanted but I think would work better for other uses.

I bought this 4 months ago to use with a Tagine, for which it performs well. I have ended up using it quite a lot though as my new gas cooker is a little fierce, even on the lowest setting it needs to have the pan lid tilted to maintain a gentle simmer with all but the largest pans. I have knocked a star off because you have to be very careful that it is positioned centrally over the flame as the handle chars very easily; I managed to burn it twice in the early days. However for 60p plus postage its brilliant, does the job, stores easily and just out of interest I put it through the dishwasher to see what happened. The answer was nothing much. I did take it out immediately and shake the water drops off, it doesn't seem to have rusted inside.

Après quelques utilisations le manche commence à noircir et se détache de la plaque , vraiment mauvaise qualité par contre la plaque bien...!! attention ne vous brûlez pas les doigts

Non ho mai avuto problemi con la Kitchencraft, perciò ho provato ad acquistare il prodotto pur consapevole delle recensioni che menzionano il manico che si carbonizza. Io l'ho provato e finora non è mai successo nulla. Tra l'altro la fiamma è ben lontana dal manico quindi non c'è davvero pericolo che accada. Immagino che la gente la usi con fiamme molto più alte.

Nur durch Zufall habe ich mitbekommen, dass es so etwas gibt. Für den Preis gleich bestellt und einfach mal ausprobiert.Nutze es im Wohnwagen auf einem Gasherd. HAbe mich bisher immer geärgert, dass ich, wenn ich etwas länger köcheln lassen möchte, die Flamme immer zuviel war. Über den Regler war nichts zu beeinflussen. Zuviel oder zu wenig immer. JETZT verteilt sich die Hitze so gut, dass ich ganz in Ruhe die Töpfe mit Inhalt vor sich hin simmern lassen kann. Klare Kaufempfehlung, Verarbeitung ganz ok, mal sehen wie es auf die Dauer ausschaut.
