Beautiful design but quite heavy. Needs beefier mounting hardware but still worth it.
Beautiful stylish minimalist design, quite heavy, very high quality knife display/holder shipped with puny undersized plastic drywall anchors. Be prepared to buy your own larger wall anchors, perhaps toggle bolts, but make sure that the bolt heads will still fit the milled slots on the back. It weighs 3lbs 9oz., but with knives easily double that, or around 7+ pounds. The magnets are also quite strong so it needs to be secure enough to hold to the wall as you pull a large knife off of it. The holes are 15 1/2" apart on the back? Since it is 18" long the mounting holes could easily be spaced at 16" for the lucky few that find two studs in the right spot - which would be ideal. Magnet coverage is ~90% for any knife spacing you want - very nice. The thickness (thus depth to the wall) is adequate for attaching and removing knives without extra spacers needed. The surface each blade rests against is tall enough to securely hold an 8 1/2" vegetable cleaver. Since there are so many magnets, the larger the knife the better it holds which would be the opposite if they scrimped on coverage. Probably the nicest wall-mount knife display/holder I've seen. Highly recommended as long as you are handy enough to adapt the mounting hardware.

Worth the extra $$
I was replacing a smaller 14" magnetic strip so I could hang more knives. I have some expensive knives and wanted a high quality and strong magnet. I chose the acacia wood because the images showed a deep reddish color with lots of character in the grain, which would go well with my cabinets. The product that arrived was not a deep red, more of a muted brown and no wood grain character at all. Perhaps just my luck of the draw with that particular piece of wood. Also to note, the bar is 18" long but you lose almost 3/4" on either side because the magnets don't go all the way to the end. Installation was a breeze, and mine came with a template which made the installation like 5 minutes. I did not use the hardware that came with it, rather used some heavy duty metal wall anchors just to be safe. It's not 5 lbs like some have said, more like 3. Overall I'm happy with the craftsmanship and the magnets seem to hold strong. Recommended.

BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG
The media could not be loaded. Very good quality product, sufficiently strong magnets. You really get what you pay for and honestly it wasn't the cheapest but not the most expensive either. I'm quite happy it looks very nice the color of the wood and finish is also quite good. The only thing that I didn't like was that I had to change the mounting screws that require dry wall anchors (parts included). it's not an issue with the product itself though, I have a small gap between the drywall and the exterior block and the screws were too long so I had to switch them out which was annoying and I'm sure is specific to me.

FLAWLESS
What a beautiful piece of wood! Very heavy duty and flawless. I have placed it on our wall and this thing is worth every single penny. Our friends have a less expensive board and their lightweight Shun knives slide down. (10" chef) I have a 8.25 inch Wusthof meat cleaver on this board and it holds true. I purchased the walnut color and it's a beauty. I'm planning on buying a couple more for my other utensils I quickly reach for.Don't look at cheaper wall magnetic boards. Yes this one is higher in price but the strength of the magnet is unbeatable. You won't be shopping for a replacement like you will a cheap one. I have a knife set that is well over $1600...I'm not willing to risk one falling due to a poor magnet.BUY!!Oh, great company too. Quick shipping, (prime), and lovely customer care.

Excellent addition to any kitchen
Beautiful wood, I chose the walnut. The internal magnet is REALLY strong and it is easy to remove a selected knife. It is easy to rearrange the knives as you can slide them while on the block. It was a bit of a pain to install as I wanted it to be perfectly level since I would be looking at it literally whenever I entered my kitchen. Suggest you have another person to help with the measuring for installation as the knife block is HEAVY, I had to rig a bunch of items to brace the block while measuring for installation. This knife block is much better than the standing knife block - it is easier to select the perfect knife for the job at hand.

Excellent quality!!
Very happy with the quality. The magnets are VERY strong and hold as many knives as I can fit on the bar. Even my large chef knives, they don't slip at all. I've tested some other bars and this one is the highest quality I've found. I bought because it was all wood andI didn't want the steel ones with the magnets showing to scratch my knives. I'm also impressed with the quality of the appearance of the bar. The magnets are totally contained in the wood and hidden so its a very clean look in my kitchen, which is exactly what I was looking for. The walnut is nice and dark but I can still see the grain.

Should have bought you first!!!
I bought a shorter, thinner, cheaper version from a different seller and was disappointed when i opened the damaged box to find it completely empty!! Annoyed, I then process my return and began searching for a better more reliable seller and found this one. After looking over the product and reading the reviews I gladly paid a higher price tag for this all around better product. I bought the acacia finish magnetic block. This one didn't disappoint!! The magnets are deffinatly strong enough to hold all my knives without slipping which is perfect considering i plan to expand my collection to fill all 18in of it. And I love the look and feel of the block. Completely worth it!!

Holds knives solidly and beautiful
I got the Acacia wood and the first one had to be sent back because it had no character and looked like bamboo or maple. But the second one had a nice reddish color to it and looks amazing in our kitchen. It is overbuilt and holds out knives very solidly. Don't skimp on these bars with a lesser quality or cheaper brand. This bar almost grabs the knife out of your hand when you're putting it back. It's not the easiest to install but pretty straight forward. 20 minutes tops.
