Jack and the Beanstalk, Grades Pk - 3: Juan Y Los Frijoles Magicos (Brighter Child: Keepsake Stories (Bilingual)) : Ottolenghi, Carol: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: My son loves it - He's only 1 but he loves the story and will actually sit and listen, which never happens! Nicely written too :) Review: helps adult learning - I've used this with my adult Spanish student. We've worked on it for a few weeks now, doing a little bit at each weekly lesson. First she read it at home, then we read a page each in class. Next I asked her to pick out certain vocabulary, i.e. names of characters, animals and objects in the story, set phrases like 'Fee, Fi...'. After that I wrote some comprehension questions covering the whole story. My aim is that in the end she will be able to tell the whole story without looking at the book. So, we're at the stage where I've picked out all the verbs needed, and she's going to make sure she knows the past tense form of them for homework. Not sure what the next stage is, perhaps I'll ask her to tell the story, doing a little bit each week. When the next week comes she'll repeat the story so far, so by the time we get to the end, she'll be able to tell it fluently. Any other ideas I'd love to hear! Thanks

great for teaching my 7yo 2nd language
Fantastic! I bought these for my 7yo as we are learning Spanish with plans to move to Spain. We read the books together and she can read them alone - I read the English whilst she’s busy reading the Spanish so she’s already translating it with her very clever and able brain! Likewise, if I read the Spanish to her, she can read the English so she knows what it means - very clever books.

An engaging, well illustrated and written tale.
This is an engaging and effective way to learn Spanish. The price is good, and the quality of the pictures and writing is also good. The story remains a classic to my mind - who doesn't like stories with hens who lay golden eggs?

Very good learning book
I am very happy with this! In Spanish and English on the same page its perfect for a child learning the language especially as mine have already read this book in English so they know the story. They are just starting out in Spanish but know quite a few words and sentence structure so this can teach them a fair few new words and help reinforce their knowledge of sentence structure. Perfect book for learners.

Nice book
Nice book. I've bought it for my newborn who is going to be trilingual. The narrative is quite short though.
