Easy to use
Instructions that arrived with the product were clear and easy to follow. Once installed on my laptop, software performed well and I accessed the diagnostics and extracted and cleared the fault code on my Lexus. Mini VCI cable good quality and well made. Very pleased with the purchase.

Works with Is300h
Delivery was fast and well packaged. Instructions included within the USB drive is also very clear. I installed it on my Windows 10 laptop without issued - but make sure you follow the instructions carefully. Once completed and connected to the car, it gives you list of car codes as opposed to car names and models that we are used to. I enquired about this as I want to make sure I was selecting the correct vehicle and the customer service response was very helpful. I was able to customise setting but the options I had available were already there within the car settings so nothing extra as such. But it will help with fault codes etc. All in all a good price for a kit that will be very helpful to all Toyota/Lexus owners.

Doesn't Work with Non Toyota Software
Appears to be advertised that it works with other Car Diagnostic Software... It doesn't with Mercedes Xentry. Can't read any of the modules not even the basic data (ECU, VIN,fault status etc)...maybe it's only for Toyota Techstream

Works on lexus is300h
Got this as I had an error code that I had fixed but didn't clear itself. This worked fine just had to make sure that I had the correct version of the car software as version 13 doesn't work with my car but the version that came with the cable did. Has now paid for itself as I changed the brake pads and had to bleed the system which can only be done with the software so this has proved it's worthI have only tried this with a 32bit system as I had an old laptop. Only thing I had to do first was to install the drivers and software and make sure the software sees the cable before going to connect anything to the car.

Beware. Not for the faint hearted!
The cable works, but that's all, hence the three stars. Out of the box, it certainly didn't, and only because the accompanying software was unfit for purpose. I only bought it because the used Lexus I now own only had one smartkey and that needed sorting. The software was included on a USB flash drive (quite a neat looking one, actually), but the drive hadn't been formatted properly and was in RAW state. The intended device, an old Dell 1750 laptop loaded with 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, complained that the flash drive needed formatting before use. Okay, let's try my desktop; same OS but 64 bit. Right, files/folders visible and copied to PC then back to a properly formatted drive (later on the desktop PC also complained the supplied drive needed formatting and the consensus was that the drive could only be recovered with specialist software). In the root of the drive was an RTF (text) instruction file and four folders labelled Step 1 through to 4. Here are the instructions included for the entire procedure, and I mean everything:"1. Connect MINI-VCI cable to laptop. From CD go to directory STEP1 and copy "XHorse Electronics".That's it, that's all you get! There are no clues as to where you're supposed to copy the subfolder XHorse Electronics to or for what purpose. There are PDF installation instructions in the XHorse Electronics folder, but they aren't applicable to the procedure you're about to undertake. The proper sequence is to get the cable drivers installed so the laptop "sees" the cable. Then you can install TIS Techstream and choose the cable from within Techstream. I ran the installation program for the cable drivers in the Step 1/XHorse subfolder from C Drive. It fell over. In frustration, I ran the Techstream install program in the Step 2 folder from C Drive. It too, fell over. There's an application in the Step 3 folder called TS_Loader.exe. Didn't have a clue at the time what it did nor where you're supposed to use/put it. The Step 4 folder contains a registry hack file if you're trying to run this all on a 64-bit PC. Again, no instructions included. For the next three days I researched the hell out of the cable and Techstream. It wasn't pretty. After downloading multiple drivers/programs from multiple sites, and a $25 USD subscription to a forum for a key code, I finally got it working. The upshot is I managed to register a used "unlocked" smart key to the car and saved myself about £500+ otherwise spent at Lexus. The bottom line is I didn't use any software supplied and documentation was nil. It's doable but you won't have any hair afterwards. Sure, the cable works but you're in for a hard slog. When you examine the advert carefully you realise it was a copy/paste exercise from somewhere else, and when they state it won't run on Windows 8 but further down contradict themselves, you know something's up. In my case I missed it. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?
