Custom Molded Swimming Pool Vacuum Hose Swivel-EZ Connector Fits 1.5" Replacement

I had bought this swivel connector for my vacuum hose because it was tying itself in knots. The swivel worked, but it also sucked air which introduced new problems, hence the need to get the swivel below the surface. I initially bought only one of these weights (see below) and put it next to the swivel and it solved the problem (15 second install time!). Shortly afterwards, however, I replaced my vacuum hose (see below) and while I liked the new hoses, they are just a little more buoyant than my old hoses, so I had to buy a second weight. This solved the problem and now the swivel stays 1-2 inches below the surface (see picture of two weights and the swivel).NOTE 1: These weights are only 2.5 ounces – which seemed ridiculous to me when my first one arrived, until it worked perfectly. When I needed a second one, I first tied fishing weights just to get an idea of exactly what I needed and found out (to my surprise) that a good weight for this item is probably 2.5 to 3.5 ounces. More than that sends the hose to the bottom of the pool!NOTE 2: These are way overpriced for what they are, but there really aren’t good alternatives. It works. Not perfect but definitely worth it. I purchased two; one to install as instructed between the first and second hose lengths from the cleaner (Barracuda) and the second to install in front of my in-line leaf trap, which stays submerged. The swivel must be installed where it will stay submerged as it is not airtight.

Work well. Saves a lot of getting stuck or twisted up. Have only had to adjust my barracuda sweeper once getting stuck next to intake which stopped occurring by increasing intake by 50 RPM.

This does serve a purpose. Just not one I had hoped to solve. It will not rotate when the pump is on. The pressure is too great to allow turning. So my hose will still curl up over course of a day or two. However, it is easier to straighten out when pump is off, so that's a plus.

Work as it should. Hose has never been tangled since this was installed. However, it only works while completely submerged. It will suck some air if it surfaces.

It made a huge difference in the performance of my Zodiac cleaner. It moves a lot more around the pool floor without as much if any tangling. However I’ve noticed that the cleaner doesn’t climb in the walls as much. Maybe this is not really related to this swivel. Nevertheless very happy with the product!

My new Pentair Rebel was busy, but tying itself in knots - this thing works! I installed it half way between the cleaner and the poolside port, and it very quietly does its job.

My pool hose would consistently get tangled. The auto cleaner would sometimes twist and turn and actually get the hose into a loose knot. Since I installed these coupler, the hose has not once got tangled again. Works perfect.
