This is very pretty. However it will not takes pack of butter. It is too narrow. It makes a lovely decorative piece.

Lovely butter fish but be warned quite narrow - cut your butter in half long ways and it fits — which is good as you can wash the butter dish between using the halves.

Beautiful butter dish

This is the prettiest butter dish i have ever seen. I would love to keep it as it matches my other Spode Blue Italian items. However, it is not suitable for me because our butter won't fit inside. I like a butter dish that will have some space around and above the butter. If they make that in a larger size, i would definitely buy. But for now, i have to return, as i like being able to use what i buy. I like nice things, but i do not buy things to sit on a display shelf. In all fairness, i have already received the refund for the return of this item.
