Adequate golf practice tool when working on bunker play. Nothing is actually like practice in a bunk but this is adequate.

So we purchased this for use in a golf simulator. Not as bunker practice, but to try to make hitting into a bunker different than not. Since otherwise we'd be hitting off the same surface either way. It doesn't do a great job simulating a greenside bunker, as you need much less of a swing to get to the pin than if you were in an actual bunker. Plus, you're much better off with a standard chip shot, than hitting a more traditional, open faced bunker shot. Fairway bunkers, on the other hand, are a different story. While previously we wouldn't care one way or the other (since the hitting surface was the same regardless), we now take more care to avoid them. Hitting full shots off the bunker mat is much more similar to real life than greenside. Pick it off the mat perfectly, and the ball carries the right distance. Hit it at all fat, though, and you lose a ton of distance. Also, if you thin it, you will sometime hit the lip of the bunker. So while I don't find it great for practice, it does a good enough job simulating fairway bunkers to be a worthwhile addition to our simulator.

If you’re looking to practice your sand swings, this will give you the avenue, but the feel is far from natural. Essentially hitting into a fluffy dog pillow. It works and I use it regularly just to keep my swing in practice. But there is no substitute for a bunker.

I’m happy with this product, it works as intended and gives good feedback.

This does not at all simulator a bunker. its basically a rug. when you hit off it, it feels like you are hitting off of a..... rug.

I have not yet been able to get the results I wanted, but I also fail to cleanly come out of the sand. I suspect once I can get the swing right for this trainer my bunker game will also approve. To say it simply the trainer confirms I am awful coming out of the sand
