Great bundle of colours. Kinetic sand is great for all ages. If you feel this lot is a bit expensive then get together with a friend or two and share out the colours. My two and a half year old grandson loved all the colours though I didn't give him all of them at once. The first ever Kinetic Sand we got (not this lot) was a small pack of Neon Green 8oz/227g but this was quite enough to have fun with and see if he liked it. Lots of play value with all the colours in this bundle. We used it with some of our playdough moulds and things we had around the kitchen. It's best if the child can play with the sand on a tray - or baking tray - or something with sides to contain the mess - but actually I didn't think it was any more messy than playdough. A bit got trodden through to the carpet in the sitting room but hoovered up without leaving a mark. There are Kinetic Sand trays (blow up, I think) available to buy, but no need to bother, you are bound to have something already in the house you can use. We also played with mini dinosaurs and other little toys in the sand - you can make caves for them to live in. We stuck seashells and little stones to make a scene. Next time I might get out his little digger trucks etc. Grandson was absorbed for a long time with this and I was very happy with the product. Wish I'd bought it sooner!

We already had some kinetic sand and tools but the kids have got really into it so I wanted to supplement their sand, and this was better value when we bought it than the bigger single coloured bags (I've come to terms with the fact that the colours will be quickly mixed!). I'm pleased with it, but I do have one comment - the pictures on the box make it look like you get a lot more sand than you actually do. The ten colours come in their own individual castle moulds - when you tip it out, it doesn't quite make a full castle (and none of mine came out with the turrets properly filled), so it's a bit naughty of for the box to show a perfect full castle on top of a pile of sand the same colour, as that makes it look like you're getting a lot more than you actually are.
