Significantly reduces prep time
I LOVE fries. I make homemade fries at least weekly, but cutting them into skinny sticks can be a real pain. I wanted a fry cutter, but I don't believe in single-use kitchen items so I searched for a mandolin slicer that would be easy to use and won't cut off my fingers. This safe mandoline slicer is AWESOME and ranks among my top 3 favorite kitchen items ( the others being my air fryer and instant pot). I use it almost daily to prep salads in just a few minutes. I can make skinny fries in seconds. Heck, I even make stir fry carrots and cabbage more often because it's so easy to use. And the best part is, all 10 fingers are in tact. So far I have tried - garlic, onions, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers - all with great results. I even eat more salad now because it's way less of an annoyance to chop up the ingredients. I don't use it to slice cheese, nor would I because I'd imagine it would be more difficult to clean. Cleanup is pretty simple, I just put it under running water with a little soap and everything usually comes out. I haven't yet had to use the included brush but it works just fine. My main piece of advice - when slicing softer or squishier things like tomatoes, you may need to use the food pusher. But DON'T use any force whatsoever or else you will just end up squishing the tomato or getting thick, ragged slices. Simply insert the food pusher and let it rest on the tomato, just the slight weight is enough to hold the tomato in place. If you absolutely need to use more force, just gently rest your hand on the food pusher. I got the best results with this. I also get good results with things like cucumbers and onions by not using the food pusher at all, until the food stop going through the slicer. When you use too much pressure on the food pusher, your slices aren't going to come out nice and thin. Don't think about it anymore, just buy it!

Great daily slicer and batch cooking workhorse
ADHD lifesaver. My hands are covered in hacks I made out of my hands while trying to cook after my meds wore off at night. Stores compactly, keeps my hands safe, kills big prep jobs NP. I've had this for 2+ years now and still going strong. and I use it probably 4-5 times per week. Minor quibbles: - does not replace a serious mandolin for very dense items. I kept my metal german mandolin for making grated raw beets. But that's a biannual project, and this one is my daily. - narrow channel requires cutting down large veg first. It's the trade-off for the safety feature. - As with all mandolins, not optimized for dicing. I use it to dice occasionally when I need to both slice and dice, but prefer a veg dicer for bigger dicing projects. - For batch cooking, the container that holds output is fairly small. Must empty frequently and veg often bounce out. But worth it for storage compactness. - Slightly harder to clean than standard mandolins due to many narrow channels. If I were finicky about cleanliness I might not like it, but it doesn't bother me. Overall, the safety and compactness make it easy to use regularly. I keep my German beast for massive projects, dense veg, and messy large shredding such as whole heads of cabbage, but love the ease of use for everyday with this one.

Sturdy, efficient, but chute is a little small
I really like this slicer. It is easy to set up, easy to use and it is safe. It opens to create a Y shape that is actually quite stable and it was easy to clean. The only place it falls short is that the chute through which you put your vegetables through is pretty small and you will not be able to process slices nearly as large as a traditional mandolin can. For example, I like to make pineapple chips. In a mandolin slicer, I can do half circles for my shapes and the size. In this, I can do no more than a quarter circle. This is not an issue if you know it in advance and plan your recipe around it- but I thought it would be good to point out to those thinking of purchasing. I hope this helps!

FANTASTIC MANDOLINE
Super safe, fast & easy, easy clean, works like a charm, and takes up less room in my drawer. Never again will I have to visit the emergency room because of my mandoline. My old one was top rated well over a decade ago, and has served me well, however, has injured me several times (Because I refuse to use the 'safety' puck included. It's a poor design in my opinion.). I would highly recommend. BTW, this product is sold by several vendors, most with a printed logo, but they are all the same product, so find the lowest price like I did. You won't be disappointed.

I like it but...
Works really well for raw potatoes, pealed or not. Fast and consistent slices. Requires attention to detail for cleaning. Just don't let anything dry in there, clean immediately. The plastic used is the good sturdy type, shouldn't fail with normal use. But...one glaring fault. The blade is not removable for sharpening nor replacement. That means when it gets dull the whole thing goes to the landfill. Not acceptable in my opinion.
