Caution: Uses CDMA (3G) cellular services being discontinued
A very good device for monitoring pasture electric fences. It seems to be the only device with the capability of alerting you through e-mail or a cellular device to monitor your fence remotely. The Fence Alarm comes with its' own SIM card preinstalled which connects to the hosting website through CDMA (3G) on either Sprint or Verizon, whichever it can find in your area. Once you enter the identification information for your fence alarm on their website, it will search for the identified device and start monitoring. This setup was quite simple and I had no problems setting it up. However, CDMA is available only in North America, so this device won’t work elsewhere. You can use whatever cellular carrier you have or any other internet connection to connect to the hosting site and view historic information for your fence as well as for setting the parameters for the alarm. If the fence voltage falls below the lower limit you set, the fence alarm will contact you by sending you an e-mail or text message. Also, you can set the hosting site to send you a routine message on a daily basis to inform you of your current fence status which contains the current voltage reading. The problem is that both Sprint and Verizon are discontinuing their CDMA (3G) service. Verizon is discontinuing theirs at the end of 2020 and Sprint will discontinue theirs at the end of 2021.I’ve contacted Fence Alarm and they told me that they are working on a conversion to use LTE (4G) services on Verizon and Sprint. They hope that they can do an over the air update for the software on the device. If that proves to be impossible, they say they are prepared to issue a hardware update. Note that the OTA update will be available for your device only as long as there is a functioning CDMA tower in your area. Thus, if your device stops working near the end of either 2020 or 2021, you may be forced to contact the company and find out how you can get a hardware fix.

Unbelievable
This product saves time, saves money, keeps people safer, and gives you much more peace of mind. I can't brag on it enough and my only complaint is that they weren't on the market twenty years ago.
