Trust the reviews - best value case for the iPad Air by miles
When I ordered my new iPad Air I decided to buy this case as a cheap 'holding' case to keep it protected whilst I decided whether or not to shell out £60 for a official leather Apple case. Well, guess what? 1 month later I'm very happy and £40 better off!I honestly did want to convince myself that I needed the Apple case, but after a month of solid use I simply can't bring myself to spend the extra cash on a product which simply can't beat this case.FitOkay, most important issue straight up. This thing fits like the proverbial glove. My iPad Air snapped snugly into place on the first day I purchased it and hasn't moved a millimetre since. It's not too tight to make fitting or removing impossible (like some cases) but I have no doubt that it is held securely and now the iPad and the case have melded into a perfect single product for all intents and purposes. Personally I prefer the look of the 4 fold cover over the 3 fold design which Apple now use, this also has advantages when using it as a stand. The cut outs are perfectly aligned all around, and the long cut out on the bottom edge allows you to use this case with docks. The cover closes neatly and snaps into place with suitably strong magnets. Once closed it's totally flat and stays in place (even when held upside down) and so I have no worries about it coming open when in my bag.FeelThe leather effect feels very nice in the hand, and whilst it doesn't smell of leather (it doesn't really smell of anything, which is good, I also bought a similar Invision case for the iPad mini which did have a chemical smell, but no problem with this case) it has a nice grip to it. One advantage of the case not being full grain leather is that it's much less prone to scratching and marking, a common complaint from more expensive leather cases (including Apple's) which look great on day one, but gradually deteriorate the more you use them.Whilst not feather-light, the case still makes the iPad Air feel light enough to hold in one hand, and personally for me the trade off between lightness and protection is worth it. If you want a real ultra-light case this probably isn't for you, but if you have realistic expectations about the combined weight of the iPad and a decent case, this should be fine.LookThis is a very smart case. The PU leather looks and feels like genuine leather and the overall build of the case says 'quality' whichever way you look at it. The Invision logo is fairly discrete (as logos go), personally I prefer logos to be embossed into the leather rather than stuck on, but that's a very minor quibble. There's no getting around it, this case is beautiful to look at. I love the fact that the entire outer case is made from the same material, unlike many similar cases on the market which include plastic material on the rear of the case.Internally there's a soft microfibre lining covering the whole inner side of the case, keeping the iPad and the screen nicely protected. The lining is a light grey, which, from experience, isn't the most practical colour, and I'd prefer a darker lining to hide the inevitable dirt that builds up over time, especially as the inner side is exposed to the elements whenever the case is being used as a stand. The stitching is unobtrusive and looks to be of good quality.ProtectionFor me this is one of the most important reasons for getting a case. I use my iPad at work and it gets a fairly rough ride, constantly being thrown in my bag and then being whipped out in all elements, so it matters that I can trust a case to keep the iPad as protected as possible, without going down extreme (Otterbox) routes. So far I'm happy with the protection afforded by this case. The four corners fit securely, and whilst unobtrusive when in use, they do protrude by a fraction of a millimetre above the surface of the screen, so if you were to lay the iPad flat without the cover the screen wouldn't touch the surface. The corers also look as though they could take a good knock and would do a good job of protecting against a fall. When the cover is closed the edges protrude enough on all sides to protect each edge of the iPad, without adding more than a few millimetres on any one side. The rear of the case is made from a hard (but slightly flexible) material, encased in the PU leather and microfibre inner. I much prefer this to plastic cases which give the iPad a 'hollow' feel. The four panels on the cover of the case are made from a hard (but again, slightly flexible) material and when the cover is closed there's no real movement as the magnets are strong enough to hold the cover securely in place. Everything about this case feels 'solid' and I can't really ask for any more in terms of protection.FunctionAs I mentioned earlier, the magnets are very strong, so the sleep/wake function works perfectly. The four panel cover design means that the triangular support works perfectly in both upright viewing and flat typing positions, never showing any signs of coming undone once set up, which is a common complaint of the 3 panel front cover design. One trade off is that the four fold design gives you a triangular support with a slightly smaller surface area, and so it's important to set up the iPad on a stable surface when in the higher viewing mode. One a flat surface like a table both positions are rock solid.OverallThis was supposed to be a cheap temporary option, but it's so good I simply can't justify spending any more money on another case. For less than £20 this is one of those rare things, a genuine bargain that lives up to the hype. The only way I could think to improve this case would be to create a premium leather version with a darker interior lining (and magnets on the rear that keep the cover open) - but that takes nothing away from this case. For this price you've got very little to loose - trust the reviews, buy this case!

Smart cover with a few niggles
I was delighted with the Invision cover for my ipad 2. It's smart (love the colour!) and very handy. But... About a week after putting the cover on I needed to get it off again to insert a sim card. It was a real struggle - once it's on it is well and truly on - but we succeeded in the end. A few days after that I noticed that there was a very small tear on one corner of the cover. It is a VERY small tear and doesn't interfere with its function. And I am sure it was caused when we tried to get the cover off. But I feel it should be hardy enough to withstand being taken off.Aside from the above, the cover leaves horizontal stripes across the screen. These wipe away easily enough with a microfibre glove, but it is a bit annoying. That said, I didn't bother with a screen protector and it is still in pristine condition as long as I keep wiping it with the microfibre glove. This must be down to the cover doing its job.So I would recommend the cover. The ipad looks great in it. The cover holds the ipad upright or just at a slight angle and basically does exactly what it says on the tin. I paid £14.95 although the postage to Ireland more than doubled the price - but it was STILL worth it!

Lovely case, good price
I'm really pleased with this cover for my 3rd gen iPad. I already had a Griffin black leather cover (also very good), but I rather liked the bright green colour of this one. Also, my Griffin case had two minor problems:1. With the front cover folded fully behind the case, it would occasionally trigger the magnetic cover lock from behind.2. The Griffin cover didn't stay shut when the iPad was in a bag. This Invision cover doesn't trigger cover lock when the front is folded behind, but reliably (more so than the old case) triggers it when closed as it should. Additionally, it latches magnetically to the front right of the iPad - so it stays shut much better.I also like the Apple smart cover 'roll into a triangle' feature. It provides a much more stable stand in both 'nearly horizontal' and 'nearly vertical' orientations than my previous cover. It also makes use of the rear camera easier. The cover should provide a reasonable amount of protection. When open, the top edges of the iPad are exposed - which I prefer - but the corners remain protected. When closed, I would expect the top edges of the iPad to be well protected too. It fits perfectly, and seems well-made to me.My old cover had a smooth leather finish which looked great when clean but marked easily. This Invision has a textured leather finish which seems to pick up marks far less.If I had to find anything to improve, I'd like to be able to raise it to closer to 45 degrees, and I'd like to be able to raise it to an angle while orientated vertically as well as horizontally - but I don't know of any case that can do this while adding such little bulk and weight! In summary: a great cover, particularly at this price (I paid under £16 delivered).
