FunguyPro WiFi Water Alarm, Sump Pump High Level Monitor, Email and Text alerts

Full disclosure. I am the seller's first cousin once removed. However, once I found out he was selling these wifi based water detectors, it seemed like a perfect thing to try given the number of times I've had basement water damage. Living on Cape Cod, this seems like a good investment. Plus, I really like the WiFi aspect for a couple of reasons. I have a young son who I would rather not be woken by an ear piercing siren like most water detectors. And if we're out of town, it would still let me know, so I could tell whoever I have watching the place to get there as soon as possible!First things first. FunguyPro, I don't usually give 5 stars unless I consider something to be truly exceptional. If Amazon allowed me to, I would give it 4.5 stars. The one thing I'm knocking a half point off for is the lack of water proofing on the case. I have a couple of low shelves in my basement where I can put the device to keep it above water with the sensor on the floor. I'll probably do a quick and dirty waterproofing myself too.On to the positives:It works. Once set up, I tested it quickly by dipping the end of the sensor cable into a bit of water in a cup, and it promptly sent me a message and e-mail.1) Small and clean in appearance.2) Extremely easy to physically set up. Just plug into the wall, and plug in the sensor cable. Put it where you want to watch for a leak. This part literally takes a couple of minutes after opening the box, and most of it is checking the directions, unpacking the parts, and walking to the basement.3) Pretty easy to set up the wi-fi. You connect to its wi-fi, open a browser and try to connect to a webpage, and it takes you to a setup web page. There you put in your house's wi-fi info. Then the device connects to your house's wi-fi, and changes the color inside the semi-translucent case to show it's succeeded. If you unplug it or reset it, it will connect again on its own. This step took maybe 5 minutes for me.

While I generally support small business, this is not really productized. It is a sloppy 3D printed box, with a button that gets stuck. Some level of Quality Assurance here would go a long way. Definitely mot worth $40, possibly $4.99 or $9.99 at best. Sorry, I really wanted to like this and support it, but I can’t.

Great Product

The alarm seems to work okay - but it was NOT easy to figure out how to sync it with my Wi-Fi.AND I have not gotten it to send me a text if the "alarm" is activated, so I am not sure it works.The website is terrible.

Unfortunately no matter how much we tried we couldn't get this guy to work. We really wanted it to. Ended up going with another brand.

This is a simple water alarm to set up and it does not require any monthly fees. Great peace of mind if you go on vacation. Exactly what I was looking for.

Hopefully someone deals with this employee!I’ll try to provide more product specific information soon, but as for now, here’s the delivery that was just made an hour ago and what is inside the case. I’ve blurred out some of the connections so that it’s not copied. It should also be noted that the gate was unlocked, but as you can see from the video, she didn’t even attempt to open the gate and place the package on the ground.
