I think it would be better if they were thicker.

Recently I bought these new hiking shoes recently from a company whose name rhymes with Prockprort. They are decent enough shoes but the laces were so short I had to use all the knot-tying survival skills I learned in the Outback after WWII just to keep them from falling off hourly.So I did what no one ever wants to admit doing. I went into my room, locked the door and there in the dark, I shopped for BROWN SHOELACES! I'm not proud of what I did but what's done is done. I'm a geek now but at least I can tie my shoes without working up a sweat.Oh, the laces are pretty good so far.

I measured what I needed and then ordered from that measurement. They fit perfectly and the colors were spot-on. I bought the black and yellow laces for my black boots and the laces really pop! The green and brown laces perfectly match my 30 year old Dr. Martens. I've forgotten how many laces I put in these boots.

I'm glad these come as a two pack. One shoelace was shredded in several places forcing me to use another shoelace out the other pack. I'm hoping my laces outlive my boots, but for the price and immediate need, it's not worth it to return.

The rating used to be 5-stars.I originally purchased a couple pairs of these laces two/three years ago and it took until this year for the casing wear through and the laces to need replacement.I purchased a new pair of laces in September and a couple months later, the casing has already worn through.On my original order the laces lasted for ever. The newest didn’t last at all. I found a pair in storage that were purchased between the two and hopefully I get a longer use out of them. But I’m pretty much done with this brand.Two months of light use is too short of time for the laces to last.
