It does the job
Husband says it works well. Centers things better on the lathe. This is his first wood lathe chuck although he has been suing his lathes for about 40 some years.

All the dimensions were as stated... It's smaller than you think. I wish I had gotten a larger size.

I did have some trouble when I went to reverse the jaws as I couldn’t get them to all meet at the same time. Come to find out the numbers were either missed marked on the jaws or the Chuck, once I tiger it out it works fine.

only engages 1/4” of arbor threads and teeth are poorly machined
Worst is the 1” to 3/4” adapter is not threaded all the way through, there is 3/8” of unthreaded land at the side that threads onto the lathe arbor. That causes it to only engage about 1/4” of the threads on the arbor. This could be what leads to the ~.01 runout at the face of the chuck, it’s hard to tell.Also, the jaws are poorly machined such that when a 1” delrin rod is tightered in them it wobbles dramatically and it cannot be adjusted to turn true. In fact it cannot be tightened so it is held rigidly at all let alone at a proper alignment along the axis of rotation.The jaws I might be able to correct but the missing threads in the adapter is un fixable. Disappointing but it’s useless so it’s going back.

There wasn't enough information for me to realize they didn't fit my lathe.

Works great with the chuck inserted in one direction but if you reverse the chuck fingers it lines up on only 3 and not 4

Waste of money
I’ve been turning for a couple years and started tinkering with this for a month to find the right sized adapter to my lathe. Finally found one and this piece of crap won’t hold wood. Don’t waste your money.

Easy to use
Easy to use and good price. Perfect for the woodworker that wants to start wood turning. Also make sure to read how to flip the jaws, their is a sequence to it

It's good
It seems to be well made, heavy duty. It is a little cumbersome in that you need to change the configuration to move through the whole size range. But for the price it's well made and does the job.

I returned the chuck
I returned the chuck because the provided adapter did not fit my 3/4"-16TPI spindle described. The chuck itself seemed ok, but by the time the spindle adapter I ordered arrives the return window would have closed and if the performance had turned out to be inadequate I would be stuck with it.
