Povidone iodine, the generic name for Betadine, is a great antiseptic with broad activity and low chance of resistance. I recommend it for first aid kits for all the places I work with. The only problem is that it is extremely messy and likely to stain clothing. Confining it to a wipe like this solves the problem. I keep a box of these around in my first aid kit, and use them regularly. They are a bit more difficult to tear open than alcohol swabs - use the notch on each packet. The pad is thin, but gets the job done. Side note: Not sure why Amazon wanted me to rate the "flavor" of this product, but keep it away from kids that might eat it.

Throw these in a ziplock and don’t go without them. Had fish gloves on and still got jabbed by a gaff top …… rubbed spot with these cloths and not even sore the next day

Applying betadine is annoying as you need a cotton ball which you end up soaking and wasting most of it … or you end with a giant bottle that might take I ten years to use up (unless you have 15 accident prone kids) and us it still good after a few years?? This is great as you get two soaked gauze pieces in each sealed packet so u get exactly what you need and it’s sealed so it maintains it’s medical strength until u need it. Great option!

I bought this for my dog,he is always getting a scratch or nick from the cat.It provides just the right amount of antiseptic and is easy to apply.
