Aquasteel Rust Converter and Primer 250 ml

Bought to treat a externally exposed steel beam. Cleaned off all the loose rust, wire brush and sanded, de-greased the surface and painted directly onto the steel. For me this was brilliant turned the rust black with a solid gloss finish. You need to prep well to get a smooth finish but it is worth it. You also need to be prepared to be reasonably quick applying the paint as it begins to act straight away and avoid over coating too much. cover any other part of the construction to prevent staining. I also gave the beam a second coat.I was going to paint on top of the Aquasteel but was not sure what would be safe. I contacted the sellers technical department and they were very helpful, Apparently you have to be careful with any oil based paint as a finishing coat allowing at least 24 hours for the Aquasteel to cure. To be honest the finish I achieved was good and decided not to paint on top anyway. I found It was very difficult to clean the paint brushes in the end I used once and threw away. Maybe I used the wrong cleaner?

Good stuff for boats

The shipping was lightning fast and the item was unbelievable. I used the rust converter on a panel of my car and it has made a great job of the panel. The rusty part changed color to black as part of the chemical reaction and anywhere where I touched the paint didn't change colour. The paint drys clear like a lacquer so if you go over the surrounding paint it isn't a problem. I am extremely happy with the product and it came with full easy to follow instructions.

I have used extensively on my campervan and it does turn the rust black and appears to seal the metal. Easy to use with a small paint brush and looks like and has the consistency of milk. Used 2 weeks ago and rust appears to have been neutralised and has not returned. Cannot comment on longer term protection

This product is brilliant I applied this and the result was great it looked as though I'd painted the gate it got rid of the rust am really pleased with the outcome.

This rust cure is excellent it works so well, very easy to use
