Far and away the best nutcracker I've ever bought. It handles every type of nut I've tried it on, from hazelnuts to brazil nuts and from almonds to walnuts, without requiring ludicrous muscle power.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that if you are careless you can end up giving your knuckles a hard rap when a nut shell gives way faster than you expect.

The handle needs a soft pad to prevent blisters when pressing the handle bar down. Round shaped nuts are easy to crack open with this product.

Very happy with this product. I don't have the strength for plier type crackers but this is great with lots of adjustment to suit each nut type. I've opened walnuts, brazil nuts, hazelnuts and almonds with no damage to the nuts; just had to work out where to apply the pressure. I found putting it in a small polythene bag catches the shell.

Bought for someone with arthritic hands and a passion for walnuts.Easy to use, bit does tend to shatter the shell!!

My husband cracks open walnuts using the flat end of his Swiss Army bottle opener. Simply wedge the flat blade ( that can be used as a screwdriver!) in the corner of the nut - twist - and out pops the nut whole from the shell. Easy, and a lot less mess.

Couple months later handled wood holders is broken

I was fed up of the ratchet type nut crackers breaking on me so I decided to give this ago. Once you have worked out the best angle and amount of force required it is excellent at the job. Build quality is good too.
