Lenovo ThinkPad T420 14.1in Core i5 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 240GB SSD, WiFi, DVD, Windows 10 Professional 64-bit (Renewed)

The Thinkpad T420 itself is a really good laptop, and I love the feel and aesthetic of it. However the one I purchased has come with concerns. The battery life is not great at all. On a full charge the battery will not last a full hour without dying. This can be solved with relative ease by just replacing the battery.But my second and more important concern is the temperature. At idle (no programs open at all) the temperature is about 50 C, and with a browser like Firefox open with 2 tabs - the temperature has been seen at roughly 80 C and you can feel the keys on the keyboard heat up and get very warm. This is a cause for concern.Apart from this and all things considered the laptop itself is of good quality. Having a better quality battery, cleaned out fans and maybe fresher thermal paste would be a great step in the right direction for the product being, that bit more, worth the price.

Never had an SSD before, Windows 10 or a refurbished laptop but I have to say this one is top banana. It boots up in seconds, either from sleep or from start up and the keys are very responsive. The unit is robust and feels very well built and unlike my old laptop, it does not sound like a jet engine taking off when it is left open and unattended.It opens files in a flash, and will toggle between several folders / tabs without a problem. I usually have a couple of different games on the go and social media open all the time as well as surfing the net and it manages fine, It also transfers large amounts of files to the USB really fast. It was easy to set up but a pain getting rid of all the guff Windows / Microsoft try to sign you up for. Sound and pictures are clear and crisp. I like the 2 speakers either side of the keypad. The anti glare screen is a real bonus as you can work outside and still see what you are doing. This model was not fitted with a camera or fingerprint reader so make sure you check all this out as refurbished ones are all different in some way, Some have features missing some dont - if in doubt ask the seller. The seller of this unit is VERY responsive to emails, usually replying within a couple of hours. I would recommend this seller

I was looking for a well specified laptop for business use and wanted a solid state drive. The prices were exorbitant, then this fully refurbished and guaranteed option came up. Like a lot of people I viewed this with some trepidation. Reassured by the warranty and specification I thought well lets give it a go. I am so glad I did the laptop is really good and very fast. I loaded office 365 and autocad which was a matter of moments and put it to work. It feels well made, the keypad well constructed and not likely to fall to bits and my god- its very fastSo in closing- would I recommend them to others and the answer is YESUpdate August 2018Now I have bought 3 for my business and they are all working faultlessly in a dirty civil engineering environment and I am still as happy as I was with the first.

I bought this laptop about 6 mths ago.I am writing because I feel that many other reviewers are missing the point.This is a business laptop for a business person who wishes to use microsoft word and other applications but not pay £1000 for the privilege. The laptop is fast. The keyboard is amazing and it works perfectly.I have a chromebook for other web based tasks but for the price this is perfect for any other business application that needs memory on the computer.This is the cheapest laptop in the marketplace which also gives you the power of a business (i.e. fast starting and processing) laptop.

Very difficult to review, as I returned the product when my 'dead' desktop suddenly sprung back into life!However, I would alert people to the fact that although it is a lap top, it is quite heavy to lug around (over 5lbs), so not recommended for people with bad backs!

A bit pricey but great for my work.
