Probably the most ergonomically best purchase Ive made in my life!
Probably the most ergonomically best purchase Ive made in my life! This truly has changed the way I use my computer and the aesthetics of my room when I walk in. I had this installed in my living room. I live in a rather small apartment, with not a lot of floor space and have to be creative when storing things. I don’t have a desk, I cant have a desk, unless I wanted another area of my home taking up space with another piece of furniture, So I would work on my couch, with computer in Lap.I would also use my ottoman as a "desk" and it was just an eye sore. I don't really have a true "before" image of this area of where my HUB27 is now stationed, but I found a few that you could get an idea from. Basically before my Hub27 was installed, I had a bamboo charging station sitting on a plant stand (yes, I hand painted it and it looks awful) sitting on the floor. A few feet away from that is my Green round ottoman, where my computer sat. IM into ergonomics, organization, and like having a "home" for all my devices, etc. Every time I would walk into my living room, it just cringed me to see how out of place my “most valuable tech devices” (MVTD) were just sitting out. Not to mention, my computer would get the afternoon sun on it if I didn't move it to my couch before I would leave the house.SO with that back story, comes the best purchase story ever. I've been eyeing the Hub27 for sometime. I loved the sleekness, the simple function, and a key to lock up my MVTD! I love how neat and organized my living room feels and looks now. Its like when you clean out your closet or rearrange your furniture, or just throw out junk. That feeling of satisfaction, that feeling of feeling lighter, and that feeling of knowing you made the right purchase! IM sitting at my hub right now as I type this, in fact, I will take a snap and add it to this review, and guess what, IM sitting on my green round ottoman.AS for install, YES, most likely you will need 2 people. Unless you are super handy, and can install heavy objects on your own. I guess one person could install, you could use a chair or something to help leverage you out. Its a pretty simple install. Even though the directions look like someone from IKEA made them, its pretty simple. THERE are no video tutorials yet, SO someone out there (WHICH I should of done) please make one. In the packaging it self, there are self screw anchors that will hold your Hub27 up, but I read that some reviewers were afraid that their child would rip it out the wall, or not enough support. THERE are additional anchors you could use. There are anchors that can go deeper in the wall and give it additional support. SO if you are concerned, you could potentially contact ergotronhome and speak with a tech about the HUB27 installation. Me personally, I still have fear that If i add any pressure to the glass door/desk that my hub will come flying out the wall, BUT i know this will not happen. I actually used the long anchors that were sent to me and did NOT use the ones that came with the workspace.I cant express how much I love my Hub27, I love it. It gets me off the couch and I feel more productive! I love that I can close the lid and be done with work and not have my computer staring at me. I couldn't relax before when I sat on my couch, because my computer would be right in my face, so half the day and night, even if I wasn't working, having my laptop in my lap was almost like a security blanket. I was just so accustomed to sitting on my couch with my computer. Anyways, if you want ask me any questions about the hub27 I can try and answer. IM not affiliated, nor was I given a free hub. I paid the money and IT WAS the best investment I made for myself. I just want to give my honest review/opinion on this device. Sometimes people write a bad review and not go into any detail, and your left wondering if something like this is worth your money- and for me, 100000% worth every single penny!
