works great
**Android Auto Car Adapter Review**This adapter works as expected, allowing Android Auto to connect seamlessly to my car’s screen. Installation was fairly easy, but it would have been more convenient if it came with the necessary tools to make the process smoother. Overall, a decent product that does the job, but a more complete kit would be a nice improvement.

Works great
Exactly as described, upgrades the car to access android auto/apple play. Bit fidgety to get fitted and make sure everything is fitted back up but take time and do it right and works great.

Excellent
Much cheaper than the oem kit, fitted to my MX5 ND, took about 40 mins after watching multiple YouTube videos, it wasn't easy but with some pry tools and patience it can be done. My phone connects promptly and Android auto works as it should. Minor gripe that this won't fast charge your phone, although still faster than the original hub that came with the car. I also use a wireless Motorola adapter that one works fine as well, ideal for shorter trips when you don't need to charge your phone. Recommended!

Good experience overall at a better price than the genuine mazda units
Have installed the carplay unit in a CX-3 2019 about 4 months ago. The install is straight forward with good instructions and the unit comes with genuine mazda cables. Works wirelessly with iphones and wired with android devices. Touchscreen works fine out of the box when stationary and can be enabled to function whilst driving as well. I had several issues when using it with google maps but I believe this is a software related problem. The unit will crash or become unresponsive and the only way to wake it up was hard resetting the infotainment. As soon as I have uninstalled google maps from my phone (ios 18.2.1) I didn’t experience any other glitches or issues. Would recommend this carplay unit.

Perfect!
Just fitted on my Mazda CX5 2018. It already had the 70.00.100 firmware installed and I followed one of the first YouTube videos I came across. It's pretty hair rasing to have all the dashboard and central gearstick area all exposed and unclipping cables etc, but I'm an absolute novice when it comes to cars and this went extremely smoothly. Just take your time and handle everything with care and all should be fine! Don't forget to disconnect the negative on the battery too. I purchased a cheap head torch + some plastic trim tools to help unclip the dash and panels. Other than that you just need a 10mm bolt extractor and a Philips screwdriver.Works perfectly!

Did not work
I updated the Mazda system to the latest 74 update. I installed the parts with no issues. The car recognized Android Auto and my phone initially went to connect after the first attempt the phone wouldn't connect again. Tried an iPhone also which did not work. Both phones changed but Android Auto apple car play did not work.

Excellent Product
Arrived with everything you need to convert my Mazda to apple car play. Fitting was straight froward around 2.5 hours thanks to you tube for guidance otherwise would have cost £415 for Mazda to supply and fit.My only gripe is the two leads supplied that go from infotainment screen to the Center console that fit into the replacement unit are only just long enough to fit making it awkward another 10cm would have made it less of a ball ache.

Not easy but works!
Okay so I have never done anything like this before but wanted to try and save the £300 extra cost for someone else to fit.Downloading the software took me about an hour and then there was lots of reading to do as I was most worried about messing up the firmware. But if you follow the instructions exactly this part was fine, just make sure to do exactly as it says. The seller provides all of the instructions for this you need on the download. You also need a usb available to format. It took me about 3 hours to download the files to a usb and run both firmware updates. The video link provided for doing the hardware was helpful. Removing all of the panels was straightforward but we did struggle to get things back together. However someone more car savvy may struggle less! This whole process took about an hour and the apple car play worked first time without any issues. So good product, lots of helpful instructions but it isn’t something you should expect to complete in under an hour!
