Koolpak Microwaveable Microbead Heat Pack - Small (15 x 16cm)

A hand sized heat pack, which is filled with Silica microbeads, when heated it moulded itself around the contours of my hand/fingers. I think as the microbeads are so much smaller that the usual wheat filling it is better suited for more ‘shaped” areas (like ears, hands, face, etc).I wasn’t really expecting much given the price, but I have had Koolpak gel pads before and was pleased with the quality.Overall a small (hand sized) heat pack, well made, is covered in a soft blue material, with the instructions printed on a label which is sewn into the seam. It provided a soothing warmth to my hand and eased the pain, the heat lasted just the right amount of time - the physio has regularly told me I should use heat packs only for 15 to 20 minutes at a time.Really pleased with my purchase.

I wanted a wheat bag that had none organic beads as I need to constantly apply the heat, I have suffered back pain for years now and the only relief I get is from heat. I have an old clay bead one but it's getting old and isn't in best of shape, I got 2 small rectangle heat pads and they work amazing with my clay bag but alone they tend to disperse the heat rapidly, whether this is to do with size or silica vs clay, I can't tell but the heat fades faster when used alone. If you're after some warmth, they stay warm for a while and if hugged I guess would stay warmer for longer but it's not enough for heating the muscles in my back.These are great because unlike grain, it can be heated without being cooled and also can be used over and over, with little degrade. I sleep with them against my bed and even if they're warm, ill heat them up again so they'll remain warm while I fall asleep. They bring great relief to tight knotted muscles.

I like how easy it is to use and fully heats in about 30 seconds. But it cools down in about 7-8 minutes unlike a silicon gel heat pad or a conventional rubber water bottle which kinda makes it inconvenient to heat it up again and again

Good product that maintains temperature for longer than other hot and cool packs I have used in the past. Useful size as it can be applied anywhere on the body.

Purchased these after I had a tumble down some stairs and had extensive bruising to my face and virtually closed black eyes - I used these to assist with dispersal of bruising and blood from face. These worked perfectly (and at under £10 for two excellent price) and sped up the process greatly. They were very comfortable but if using on sensitive area make sure you put the pad in a tea towel or similar before putting on skin. As for timings of heating up (simple process in the microwave) I heated mine for maximum 1 minute 20 seconds, longer than that and it was too hot - however, I was obviously putting them on my face so you could probably heat for longer if placing on back / leg etc. I would definitely recommend this product. Just one thing, and this is not a comment on the actual product, when I checked the delivery information it said it had been "handed to the resident" - they were NOT, they were left on my front step and they definitely didn't knock as I was in the room just inside the front door!!!

That it is flexible enough for my husband to use these on his painful knees. Easy use short microwave warm lasts.

I ordered this so I could relieve ear pain. It heats up quickly in the microwave and there are clear guidelines on how to heat it and precautions when using the item.The heat pad is a decent size, small enough for what I wanted it for but also big enough to use elsewhere if needed.Due to the filling in the pad it is easy to shape and holds its form around things easily. It is lightweight and doesn’t have a strong smell when heated.It stays hot for quite some time. I was microwaving for 90seconds and this held its heat for a good couple of hours.
