For icord - just like grandma taught me to make all those years ago.
After my disastrous attempt at icord making using a knitting mill I went back to basics. I was going to ask my husband to make me a good old fashioned french knitting bobbin and so I handed him the hammer and nails and then realised that all my cotton reels are plastic and not wood. When did that happen? So, I had to buy one. I really like this well made knitting dolly with prongs that are securely fitted and don't feel as if they are going to break or come loose. The four prongs at the top are nice and wide, not too fiddly, and the dolly itself is shaped so as to make it nice and comfortable to hold. It comes complete with a "pin" to use that fits nicely inside the dolly and I am not too sure of the logistics here but it doesn't seem to fall out. It stays nice and secure with just a little "push" needed to release it out of the dolly ready to use. It may be very slow when compared to the knitting mills, but the end result is nice and neat cord - perfect for what I want.

A great (yarn) tool! Quick results, fun for all ages.
What a great tool for getting children & adults crafting. The instructions are a bit ropey and as they’re underneath the label we’re promptly ripped when it was opened. There’s a great 2 minute clip on YouTube showing how to get started. Feed the end of the yarn through centre, that becomes your ‘tail’ for pulling the rows through.. I’ve used James C Brett neon yarn and plain kitchen string, about the thickness of a pound coin, but worth experimenting. A bit hard on the fingers until they’re calloused, my daughter used a bbq bamboo skewer instead of the pokey needle provided. So many people have fond memories of doing this low-tech activity as kids. We’re hooked.

One Hoop was very loose
One hoop was very loose, and kept sliding out, making knitting impossible. I put it back with Superglue, and it works OK.I'm using it with Chunky Yarn, but I think it would be OK with Aran weight yarn too.

Great buy
Excellent buy, Very comfortable to use and it is solid. I have got this to make pendant chains in different materials. I tried using jewellery thin wire but it was not successful. but everything else knits up well and is neat. I have to say going back in time when I used a wooden dolly, my wool used to be pulled and looked rough, but with this being acrylic it is smooth and the wool is perfect and looks lovely. You can use this item for many crafts. sky's the limit. I would recommend this product perfect for all ages.

Nice feel in the hand
Nice feel in the hand, smooth and the rounded contours make it easy to hold and turn. Produces a nice smooth tight (not too tight) cord. I like the loop style pins, easy to get your pick or crochet hook under. As another reviewer has said, it's clear not pink but I prefer that anyway. I think this is a very good french knitter and is way better than the old nails in a cotton reel method.
